A dodgy story.

Are they still rebuilding the ex Swedish Hampden on site? Any progress on that?
Cees
Come on John, that cockpit shoud have been finished ages ago:cool:
I’ll get me goat
Cees
Sure looks like a Wellington throttle box.
No news about the restoration of the Mk 22 Spitfire? Would really like to see that one flying.
Cees
Is that the same Heron that was used on an episode of Dempsey & Makepeace?
Cees
It says Spitfire, must be a trick question:cool:
Cees
Some exhaust stubs too.

Just think of it, all the main allied Bombers lined up, B29, B17, B24, Lancaster, B25, But the thing to remember is most people at Duxford are volunteers who have a heavy work load as it is.
Not quite: missing from this list are Stirling, Halifax, Wellington, Whitley, Hampden (and B26 Marauder) among others:highly_amused:
Cees
Can’t you have these made up by volunteers? My first taste of making parts for the Halifax cockpit was making these small but important parts. I went on from that. Very satisfying work.

Seems like it is too difficult these days to get an interesting and useful topic upon historic aircraft. Pity really.
Come on, a Maryland!that should not be too difficult to get an interesting string of information without the B… And S….. words included?
Anyone?
Now you tell me……
Cees:D
Thanks John,
But that exactly what (internationally) cooperation is about.

About time too John;)
Work on the investigation on BK710 has been suspended. The next thing to do is for the authorities to take action
to recover the six missing crewmembers. Obviously they refuse to take any.
Let us know if you need more info we can help with.
Cheers

Nice start Dave,
Pity some of the facts are not right. The museum couldn’t care less what happened to the fuselage section. Guess who was eager to get it back to the UK for your project. Never read anything about that in CW. The museum was only a custodian who had the item on loan but didn’t have a clue to it’s historical value in a reconstruction.
Pity, but good luck with your project.
Cheers
