You rang m’lord?
Indeed armour plate and presumably located at or around frame 10 at the flight engineerd position. We recently got a similar plate
from a Dutch recovery. Does it also has a yellow circle painted on?

No 1 Sqn spitfire 21 LA198 perhaps? Easy to use for setdressing at the time?
Hope this gets solved.
Cees
I always have a softspot for the late series spits/seafires. Is there a reason it hasn’t flown in years?
hopefully TFC’s Mk 22 will be restored eventually.

Hi Ian,
Perhaps cooperating with DaveR will be a good idea. He is working on a similar project. Sharing information, costs etc.
Cees
Not that one IIRC.
So far Karl has amassed wing centresections, outer wings, Hercules engines, tailturret, nose transparency and Hastings undercart (not of much use on a Halifax). That is
quite a lot to bring back a taxying Halifax. We all know that YAM and the NA337 team have searched the world for Halifax bits but still parts do turn up. Hopefully this
will continue.
Cees
It was mentioned on LW170’s Facebook page.
Cees
Similar item as N1521 you got Elliott?

Quit the discussion on wargraves in this thread, perhaps a seperate thread is a better option. In the Baltic several Halifaxes have been located.
Whatever identity the Canadian reconstruction will carry, I don’t give a whoopsie.
Cees
Doesn’t look like a Stirling head armour plate, more like Fairey Battle.
Cees
Karl is passionate about Canadian Halifaxes and in his opinion a restoration needs to have a Canadian provenance like LW170 has. Finding this airframe was what started this quest. The Maltese hasting sections may have spurred a new project. My cockpit drawings have gone to Canada and Karl is scouting the globe for Halifax parts. A set ( possibly two) of wings are feasible and work on the mainspar is ongoing as you have seen. Recently several Halifax wrecks have been discovered in the Baltic and are under investigation.
By the way, please stop referring to wargraves.
Good show Karl, show the naysayers what can be done to bring back a Halifax, any Halifax.

I visited the Brussels museum early may, although they have a Mk IX and XIV on show, did not see a Mk IX hanging from the rafters. Not that I was staring at the ceiling though with so many interesting exhibits. Pity about the neglected state of the building.
But a great place to visit.
Cees
Those at least have a dataplate.
Cees
This is turning nasty, pity really:apologetic:

Some bits of equiment and a few fittings. Call me ignorant, but I don’t see anything that relates to a Lancer airframe starterkit?
Cees
What substantial parts were that?
