I visited Fantasy of Flight early september and was shown around the storage area by “Speedy”, at least that was his nickname:cool:

Saw the Ki61 wing up close and the condition was remarkable. The Japanese stencilling was clearly visible on the wing bomb racks and all piping etc looked to be complete. A real time capsule. Saw some nice goodies in there.

It was said that this section was to be used in the ex swedish Firefly now in Holland. I also heard that substantial remains of both airframes are still on site.

I’d like to second that request re. the Brown Brothers catalogue please- we’re often coming up against weird old fastenings on Bluebird!?

Extending the French theme.
