Interesting, I have seen photo’s of some MK V’s of which the spinner has a small fixed fairing in front of every prop blade root. What’s the function of this?

Great news as I thought it had all been scrapped. The fuselage guns had been hacked out with an angle grinder I was told.

I still have both painting reproductions signed by the full crew that was intended to raise funds for her restoration. Alas.

Well they did put some parts back such as the bomb aimer transparency framing and canopy bits, the fairing to the rear of the nose turret and the Perspex bubbles at the sides of the nose. This at least makes it look more
complete and as recovered instead of the situation that it had been displayed in as a dismantled and gutted wreck.

Nice to see companies cooperating on this great project.
John, haven’t had any time yet to measure the brake valve mounting due to work. My boss wants me all over the place. Spent a few days in the City, London last week.
But you will get the drawing in time.

Thanks Tony and the cockpit will be named after the Halifax he was a flight engineer on. I am very pleased how this has turned out.

I remember seeing some underwater footage of a complete Sunderland in Norway some years ago in the German magazine FLugzeug Classic. After removal of useful parts it was sunk and very complete.

    Good morning chaps,
If all goes to plan this morning will see a flat pack Halifax cockpit showing up on the doorstep at East Kirkby. It was picked up last Saturday. And although I am sorry to see it go it has found a fantastic new home. And I still have a Hampden cockpit to work on.
Thanks to all of you on this forum who have helped and supported me over the years (you know who you are).
So Halifax HQ The Netherlands is no more.
    Cheers
