Yes…found plenty of the bright yellow plastic cable covering at the weekend at a Lancaster and Halifax crash site.;)
Oh….and if anyone wants a 4,000lb Cookie I know where one is, albeit that it is 9.2 metres down. 😮
Thanks all for confirming a question I had about the colour. I have part of a Halifax wiring loom that was yellow but had been painted green. This was a mk II, so perhaps there are variations, but yellow just gives it a bit more colour in the cockpit.

Hi Rijn,
No problem, how about sunday september 4th? I will be
at the museum the whole day.
I was planning to phone James as he didn’t respond to
my e-mails.
Cees
I sent you a few plugs the other day, as samples. I hope you get them OK.
Bruce
Hi Bruce,
I got them this evening, thanks very much they are just what is needed.
I will pm you about these.
The wiring cables are just let through the open fittings where the pins(plates) have been removed. Can you spot the odd 20 feet of garden hose:cool:
Cheers

Hi Elliott,
My parts catalogue doesn’t say much as I don’t have any. Have to do some more research about that light.
Time for an update,
Today we worked on the wiring looms, the rear of frame 7 received a coat of grey primer. The cockpit green will follow later.
I will let the pics do the talking.

Now let’s put the Halifax back in RCAF service again too.
Would Bombardier be prepared to produce a first batch of say errr onehundred Mk VI’s for starters?
😎

We are investigation a Wellington wreck which lies in shallow water. The Wellingon is notoriously difficult to find an identity. It does have the later type of tailwheel, but we try to find out what factory built it.
Does anyone know if the letter Y could be a link? (BY and ZY have been found amont the many numbers).
Also a stamp showing a circle with the letters
N
O
R
vertical like above, any clue to what factory it used this stamp?
Cheers

And what about the other three Spitifre I’s that John Romain mentioned last year in FlyPast?
They should be quite advanced as well.
Cees
Great project you have there.
Cees
No, don’t know what the parts are, pics are not very clear.
Cees
Peter,
He knows.
Cees
We got Balkenende…..:(
Cees
Any pics taken during the first recovery? The book on the recovery of the RAF Museum Hurricane wreck also mentions this Halifax as well as the recovery.
Cees
Thanks Elliott,
Never seen this version. The fitting was one of the first things I ever got for the project. Now it seems that it’s a much different type as used over the DF indicator in the centre of the main instrument panel. back to square one:p

The 190 is the first built airframe (fuselage and wings) by FlugWerk using many original parts (tail, engine, cowling etc.)

instrument light
I have a light fitting exactly as this one (pic taken from Bruce’ s site, hope you don’t mind)
which is fitted over the d/f indicator in the Halifax cockpit.
Does anyone know where to find the missing bit?
Cheers
