Good on ya, lads….he’ll be thrilled….be sure to mark the box ‘extremely fragile’ so’s they don’t shake it up too much.

WE would be remiss if Steve is broken down here in Colorado and Denise and I aren’t doing anything to help him out…
Mark
“A small unfortunate incident in Colorado,” AIB? DO tell more…?

JDK is a one off copy, some even think he’s a clone, so I would’nt shell out TOO much for him….if he was so valuable Britain would’ve made more of a stink about him moving to Australia than they did.
His CLOTHING, on the other hand, is always top notch and worth more than he is.

If you still have those blueprints, the guys restoring her could sure use them….especially if they’re for an A6M3 model…they’ve had absolutely no luck finding blueprints for that model…

‘Rare’ presents its own set of problems, maintenance and parts wise. A ‘one of a kind plane’, while nice to have, might sit in the back of a hangar gathering dust for fear of breaking it and not being able to fix it…but I agree it would be nice to see flying somewhere…and I bet it’ll find a buyer….but at maybe a reduced price from where it now sits.
Mark
Yeah you could buy this plane (nice as it is)….or a TBM or T-6!

They were beautiful little planes….take all the guns out of them and use it for a general aviation type plane (for travelling) and you’d do fairly well, it had great range, good speed and great maneuverability…what’s not to like? Looking at the skin of this one (the old cockpit section) I WAS amazed how thin it was (the writing said .025), VERY thin skinned, a .50 calibre bullet would’nt even be SLOWED by going through it, I doubt….and this old canopy section pictured was hit TWICE by attacks (whether in the air or on the ground I don’t know) and twice repaired and kicked back into service.

I don’t have a website…
Mark
Much appreciated sir, but I think I’ll pass…I pick up very few aviation tapes, but on occasion do so…I have so many already from videographer airshow friedns I would’nt know what to do with it. But thanks again…
Mark
No, the photo I saw was just planes, it was from the front and above/left side, mostly just of our little Hawk but you could see bits and pieces of other planes in the background, if I recall…but no people…

Steve Morse from Deep Purple has the same kind of job….he flies for an airline when not touring! Found that out this last summer when I saw them in Denver….very cool!

I drive Jeep….have for years now. Love the option of turning off the established road and heading up some dirt road/4 wheel drive road that 2 wheel drive cars can’t follow me up, get away from the crowd and go camping or fishing….also love taking the top off in the summer and letting the wind blow through the vehicle…the blue Jeep below, ‘Ridge Runner’, is my Jeep CJ-5 I sold last spring (a guy bought it and restored it, have yet to see it in it’s new condition), and yes it was named after Dan Martin’s P-51 Mustang out in California of the same name (could’nt find a good Corsair name to transfer to it)….the next is of my present Jeep, a red Wrangler which just had it’s French Peugeot Tranny rebuilt and has been running like a top since then, but needs the 4 wheeling system fixed (but will still go offroad most places other Jeeps will go), it’s lifted about 4 inches and has good clearance…
Great vehicles, Jeeps….would love to find an old CJ-2A somewhere and do that one up…

Bruce Dickinson? Oh my god….’Run to the Hills!’…..what, was Blaze Bailey busy?
Don’t have cable, did’nt get to see it…oh well.

In the new issue of “Air Classics’ there is a photo of the plane in service with the French, on an airfield surrounded by others of it’s type, apparently the only photo of it that exists from the WWII period, or so the caption said….
