“Now….go away or I shall taunt you a second time….”
No, truth be told, we’re Welsh/Scot/Irish/Brit with a splash of Swedish thrown in, but the predominant family history/lineage is of Welsh origin….sorry if that BOTHERS you, Manonthefence, but it is the truth.

You’re assuming I know what ‘the potteries’ is…which I don’t…no points on that one.
Josiah would be the ‘americanized’ name…could have been a lot of other things. The Morris name is definitely Welsh, with a few other influences. Have done the (exhaustive) research on it for my family…which is what makes all this crap from you lot rather aggravating…must be a JOY to hear that. Either that or I’m feeling today like AIB did the other day, just have no sense of humor today…
M
Ok, I give up…won’t learn a new language or anything new about the world, will just remain a closed-minded American stuck in our own conceited ways, buggar all the world and the hell with you lot…some of you really are impossible to work with or learn anything from….no wonder the Welsh are constantly pissed at you and snigger on behind your backs….
M
…and despite the name, we DON’T do silly dances like certain residents of Kansas City who fly Sea Furies with the wrong engines in them….but I digress…
M
OK ok ok, so maybe I’ve gone ‘missing’ from the country since…oh, roughly 1645 when uncle Tommy and Auntie Sarah and cousin Josiah left the country for Barbados, where unfortunately Sarah died and Tommy and Josie continued on to America in about 1680 and settled in Virginia (least that’s how it looks like it played out) and we Morrises established our foothold in this country and worked our way west from there…don’t know a DAMN thing about Llanelli since we’re from TINTERN (hey….Nice abbey!) near the bridge into Chepstow on the river Severn where they STILL charge your silly English asses to enter their fine country….
Mark in Wales in Colorado….
Actually AM Welsh….just living in America (where NO ONE speaks it)…
Oh god….tell me it’s not true….
M
So I misspelled ‘Third’ in my above post…so what…seen a LOT worse in here, believe me…

Don’t WANNA learn to read Latin, wanna learn WELSH where the Family is from…not hard to comprehend, now, is it? Latin on a dollar bill? Who reads that? You’ve seen ‘National Treasure’ too many times…
mark
SO ANYWAY, sheep jokes aside, I reiterate the question….how long/hard would it be to learn Welsh?
M
My thrid feature length aviation article will be out in the next (issue 3) of Warbird Digest, the article entitled ‘Airpower West’ about a group of WWII aviation buffs out here in Colorado…..my next two articles will be about a local pilot here in Colorado named Carl Williams who flies an Alexander Eaglerock biplane and was just inducted into the Colorado aviation Hall of Fame, and following that I’m gonna try an incredibly sentimental/soppy look at the now defunct Breckenridge Airshow in Texas, an article I have wanted to do for a few years…it MAY appear in WD in the future…

Anyone ever read the book ‘Flying to Pieces’ by Derek Ing? Basically about an old guy who knows of a stash of old warbirds on a south pacific island and he enlists friends and investors to go and get them…
Mark
Man, I am SO NOT in favor of taking flying warbirds and making them static…that just outright pisses me off….:-(
Mark
Yeah, well, check out my other thread ‘Pool Table flying in the US’ that I just created with some photos taken over a NOT so flat terrain here in Colorado…
