Or Colorado…Hello? Bill Greenwood bases his Spitfire at Aspen, we used to have one HELLUVA show there with mountains just off the side of the runway…Jimmy Franklin flew right up the face of the mountain (it has the airport radar on it, made one heckuva shot on film)….I Simply MUST defend the honor of the US when it comes to ‘pool table’ flying by illustrating my point, I guess….

Good, be happy in that Hind….cuz I can assure you that with all these other hopped up machines, you’ll be BE-Hind!

Yeah, hopefully….last I heard it was still awaiting an engine (and not the British one), would be nice to see it up and about again…been about a year and a half now since the engine packed it in…

Steve, you guys ever intercept Thibodeau and the Mustang here in Denver, or did that plan not come together?

John Sinclair….that was the prisoner’s name…he was busted with like 3 joints and they wanted to make an example of him and lock him up for life or something…Seger and Lennon and Co. banded together to get him set free…

Folks, as one who has seen Connie Edwards hangar FULL of BoB stuff in Texas (and he has others across the country), you would be amazed at what he has stored away…and what will eventually see the light of day sometime when he feels like parting with it, or passes it on to others after his death….talk about a treasure trove of vintage parts….oh MY GOD…;-)

Agreed….the thing looks like a combination of a modified Yak/P-40/Extra 300/contra prop Seafire amalgamation, somewhat attractive from a certain point of view but NOT very recognizeable as a Buchon by any means! Someone actually expended the money to try to build one of these things (besides JDK’s marvelous example seen here)? I can see the word ‘failure’ as an air racer written all over it, kinda like I felt about the Pond racer when I first saw it…

I don’t think he’d be too impressed with the world of today…and maybe he’d be side by side with Bono lobbying world leaders to change it…

Lennon was a bona fide talent, but can’t see him in the Travelling Wilburys at all…but who knows. Liked him best when he joined Bob Seger for a concert in Detroit in 74 to free a prisoner (forget who)…helluva sight, Seger and Lennon embracing on stage and playing for this one cause…

Daz, whycome your ‘White Shark’ has a White tip on the fin? An unknown cross breed between Longimanus and Carcharias, perhaps? (for the untrained, that’s the Oceanic Whitetip and the Great White)….other than that it looks great, except for the ailerons for fins…

Flew a 140 a few times during flight training, nice little plane….snuck a friend on board with me and he did’nt shut the door all the way (Of all vehicles NOT to do that in!) could’nt hear the radios from the noise of the wind, had to have the tower signal me in so we could close the door properly! On another flight, being used to high wing Cessnas as my primary trainer, I got caught flat footed in ground effect and just floated along the runway at about 3 foot of altitude forever…..until I started tracking off the side of the runway! A light stick ( 2 foot high light on a pole) started to come into view directly ahead and in the prop’s path, so I kicked left rudder and took the plane off the runway to avoid the pole….knocked the air out of two of the landing gear struts but walked away unscathed, the PA-140 flew the next day…
