Hey, whatever happened with that Great White that was trapped in a lagoon in Massachusetts a few weeks ago, did it ever get back out to the open sea again? Never heard…

For that one of a kind ‘in action’ shot, I use my 200mm lens and have a friend throw the plane out the window….in fact, some of the air to airs that you may have seen me post on this site have actually been forged in this way….downside, it’s usually a one time deal until the plane is rebuilt again and we have another go at it…
M
I sold mine on to another Aviation enthusiast…don’t tell anyone….he kept raiding the fridge in the middle of the night (the light kept waking me up) and running to the window anytime a plane flew over and pointing and grunting at it…VERY annoying…
M
Probably why the Lanc ‘popped’ up in front of his plane…the British pilots were’nt used to flying in the brilliant light of day and had some trouble!

I agree with JDK, slide sleeves work beautifully and you can store them in a notebook…I have chucked many a slide that I knew I’d never use to save space, leaving only the good ones in the notebooks. I file my slides by ‘airshow year’, as I can always recall when and where I saw a Fairey Swordfish (Legends 2000) and just go to that notebook and get it…not saying that ALL of my photographic collection is that well organized, tho….still can’t find my Collings B-24 air to airs from 3 years ago!!
M
Hell and gone from the beautiful, sunny photos everyone posted during Legends, isn’t it? Looks like the collection is definitely tucked in for the winter, waiting for warmer weather to come out and play….

I bought the Corsair at the Corsair gathering, great replica that sits on my table (in British markings, ‘TA’), wanna get a VF-17 or VMF 214 Corsair…and if I can find the room, maybe some of the others…i love the things!

Antidisestablishmentarianism.
Hmmm…so, since the Evergreen P-38 was restored by Darrell Skurich and his boys here in Colorado….and since their project BEFORE the P-38 was two late model Messerschmitts (a g-6 and g-10 I think), I wonder if that was ALSO shot at Skurich’s shop when he was restoring the Messer’s for Evergreen (one wound up at the air force museum)…

Trumper, the Gathering DVD (all 8 hours of it) is in pre-sales right now, got the e-mail from Mike Schneider the other day, but as of yet unfortunately they can’t do anything for regions outside North America…to quote Mike, “We cannot handle international shipping and billing at this time, but we do want everyone to be able to enjoy this documentary, so please e-mail us if you are from outside the united States at info@thecorsairexperience.com…so there you have it.

Hey, DGH, go back a few issues (july or August) and tell me if you see my write up of the Front Range airshow here in Colorado in either of those issues…it SHOULD feature a shot of a WAR scale Corsair…am trying to get paid for it and don’t know which issue it is in!~
Mark
Nice….flew with you guys a few summers ago from Loveland, CO, were supposed to get the two bombers together with Eddie’s Firefly, but he could’nt get it started in time, so I got shots of the B-24 in stead…always fun to see the bombers come through, looking forward to seeing them again next summer!
Indeed, why just one, Trumper? the more the better…here’s one from a few weeks ago of the unpainted (as yet) restoration that they just unveiled here in the states from the Fighter Factory…what a beaut! Ok, maybe not…can’t get it to upload….let’s find another…Gerry Beck’s dash 4 as photographed by D1ck Phillips, Mustang (?) historian…

Make it a Flyer! Make it a Flyer! Make it a Flyer!!! Enough museum pieces, they need a FLYING P-47 downunder!!
