“Red skies at night, sailor’s delight…..red skies in the morning, sailor take warning…” An old addage we used to use in the Coast Guard…with skies that red at sunset, I reckon there were calm waters on your side of the atlantic that night….nice stuff…

Great photos, looks like a good day….Two questions…..Whose BF-109 is that and where did it come from, and basically the same questions about what APPEARS to be an F4U-7 Corsair, although checking the tail numbers this would APPEAR to be the one from the USS Alabama memorial that just got trashed in the Hurricanes of last season….she looks like she has new paint, so maybe she’s painted up to APPEAR as that particular bird….could she in fact be Blain Fowler’s old ‘Alberta Blue’ or am I missing something here?

    I used to fly a PA-28….nice plane…very different from a Cessna….and CERTAILY different from a Spitfire….

Planning on stopping by Aspen where a certain Spitfire flies from?

Amazing…..now if Bill Greenwood ever tells me his Spitfire flies too fast to hang with a T-6 I’ll tell him, “Bill, I once saw a Spit fly with a Sopwith Camel…..” That should motivate him…LOL….

It’s a lovely little town in the hills above Idaho Springs, Colorado, where the brook trout fishing is great, St. Mary’s glacier is open all year long to skiiers and snowboarders, the four wheeling is challenging and I have great memories…

Oh…not that town of Alice? My bad…

A credit to the last name of Morris, he is, working on Corsairs like that……reminds me of me old pappy working at Vought during the war, cranking out Corsairs for pilots of the Free world to use….maybe my relative Morris worked on this particular Corsair before This Mr. Morris did…..would love to pick up the book some day….

This IS the Hurricane that Ray Middleton has been restoring over the past ten or so years for Lone Star, I did post some restoration photos of it about 4 years ago but recieved a call from Ray asking me to take them down as the owner did’nt want the plane seen until its debut….it was restored in Ft. Collins, CO and while I had hoped to see it buzzing around the area like Capt. Eddie’s Firefly did a few years ago during its test flights, no such luck this time around and my ‘spies’ failed to inform me of its first flight(s)….ah well….nice to see it up and going…

‘American Storm’, the opening song on Bob Seger’s ‘Like a Rock’ album, meant as a tribute to John Belushi and an anti-drug song, it just flat out ROCKS and cranked up blows the windows outta your car…a great opening song on a very good album, tho most will remember it for the title cut ‘Like a Rock’ which Chevy picked up for an almost 15 year ad campaign….
