Yeah, I agree, I think Sky Captain was an original concept, not borrowed from the comics or anything but rather ‘influenced’ by other pics like Raiders and Star Wars and such…but very original in its own application…still, and as Whiskey Delta seems to agree with me, a very good ride for the money, lots of action, flying and humor…check it out.

I was gonna say, I think I have pics of these three flying together myself, as there were FOUR Hurricanes at either of those two DX shows and I have pics of the FOUR of them together (missing is the black Hurricane)…it was AE977’s first airshow after restoration if I remember right (DX 2000)…

Oh…My….God….The warbird movement finally gaining steam and showing what it COULD be when people took CARE of the planes that were left…these pics are HISTORY in and of themselves, great to see them…that Corsair later lost an aileron flying in an air race (or was it BEFORE this event?) at Cape May, NJ but landed safely…anyone have pics of a P-38 lightning owned and flown by one John Deahl of Denver, CO who later died in the crash of that same P-38 in Utah at an airshow?

Oof…alright…VERY funny….buncha Monty Python wannabees….I have NO HAT like that one….

Rob-
All for it…just that climb down from the cockpit cockpit could be a little ‘revealing’ for us….or it could just reveal what it took to fly those big planes back during the war! 🙂
Archie, did a ‘color search’ the other night on tartan patterns…there’s like 40 different types!! Decisions, decisions! Will find something, tho…

Ah well…

Melvyn…
Guess what I keep stored under that kilt? It has a long barrel…and to quote Clint…”and would blow your head CLEAN OFF….so you gotta ask yourself….do you feel LUCKY? Well? Do ya….PUNK!?”
Not referring to you, Mel…just a movie line….say hi to Tony Harmsworth for me, willya? Just don’t send the kilt pic.
Mark
Andy…SSHHHHHHH!!!….top secret info that….still debating what to wear (or NOT) under the kilt when I get it!!
May go with the Welsh national kilt design, too…whaddya all think? The Fam is mostly Welsh from what I understand…
Certainly NOT a ‘MORRIS’ dancer, tho…Hmph!
Whaddya think….do the ‘Buchanan’ tartan colors go with my eyes?

Another phenomenal Corsair driver heads west…to meet up with his other Corsair driving buddies in the afterlife…tailwinds to ya, John.

I shot these in Breckenridge, TX in the mid-1990’s, buried in a hangar out behind Ezell’s restoration shop…they are of a Hawker Typhoon tail and wing section…anyone know what plane it is and what ever became of it? I think I posted them here a few years ago, but I’m not sure…
Mark
Do the best you can with what you’ve got….no one will EVER fault you for that. Good job.
Mark
I was gonna guess Pembroke…

Dopn’t know any Plane songs, but we modified the lyrics to ‘Luchenbach, Texas’ to suit the Breckenridge Airshow-
“Let’s go to Breckenridge, Texas…
With Howard and Nelson and the boys…”
There were other lyrics I’m told, but not sure of them…

All I know is my last name is Morris..
I’m thinking of changing it back to its original spelling of Maur Rys to avoid further embarrassment. And I don’t dance…well…very well….and certainly not in white pants.

Good on ya, Rob…let’s go dig up a Corsair somewhere!
Tell those Navy pricks who like to swoop in on any recovered Navy bird and claim it as ‘theirs’ after forgetting about it for 60 years to go schtoink themselves!
Welcome back, holmes.
