I’ve got a Hudson. Sadly not on its stand though.

Interesting to see IES Projects mentioned here. I am looking for info on the Gunbus Replicas they built for the film “Shout AT The Devil”. I presume that the company is no more, but does anyone have any contact details for anyone involved with them?
Cheers

Absolutely lovely, and thanks for posting. It’s a pity there were so many sprocket issues in the first half which made the pans very jumpy. What system did they use to digitize it?
Steve
The Thread that just keeps on giving!
Love it.
Steve.
New Gnomes are being made in New Zealand, in fact the sister plane to this is due to have the third one of the production line.
Steve.
Very sad to see. Glad everyone is ok.
Steve
Wow. Thanks Peter, and here’s to sixty more?

It certainly was the ‘closest of calls’ and I suspect that more footage will emerge. I even wondered if there was a cockpit cam in Sharkmouth? Very, very lucky.
Steve
Hope this works:
This is a zoomed and stabilized version I uploaded from the original a few posts up.

A big bird strike? Let’s just say that they were very, very lucky that it was not much worse. That video is a lesson for everyone involved in formation flying.

Rover V8s were used on a Chippy as a serious proposal in the 1970s. I don’t know what ever came of the idea.

Well I did see on a radio controlled model site, a comment to the effect that after filming the pieces of one of the replicas (presumably the crashed one) were stored at Cranfield. A complete example with SA reg applied was also said to have been displayed outside a cinema in SA showing the film.

From the BAPC Blog
BAPC.123 “P641” – Vickers FB.5 Gunbus FSM – (1186/2) – Cranfield – built for film “Shout at the Devil”, small components only remaining
Matt posted some photos of it at Sywell recently which is why I presumed some ownership connection.
Steve
That was the film “Gunbus”. Matt Boddington now has the non flyable replica.

Been thinking I should pop in and see what they were all doing. Looks good.
