The Queen is mentioned because she is an unelected Head of State. You attack the legitimacy of the EU by asserting many members of it’s bodies are ‘unelected’, yet very visible examples of the exact same thing within the UK are conveniently ignored.

The PM is an elected MP – but we do not vote for them to be the PM. The PM is simply the MP with the largest bloc of MPs behind them. And because of this, they are appointed to be PM. This is much the same as the Council. Members of it are appointed because they have been elected to their respective offices. To say they are ‘unelected’ when this is the qualifying requirement to them being on the Council is pedantry in the extreme.

Members of the Council are nominated by the member states, much as representatives to other international bodies, such as the UN, are.

And even if this is the main decision making body, its power is checked by directly elected MEPs and the Council, which is made up of the elected heads of govt of the member states.

Edit: I think I may have used confusing terminology. By ‘council’ I was referring to the European Council, which is made up of the heads of government of the member states, so I can’t see anyone thinking there is a democratic deficit there.

The Council of the European Union is made up of national ministers, ministers that are appointed by member state’s democratically elected government in the same way that all others are appointed.

Neither is the Queen, or the British PM. Not directly anyway, in the case of the latter.

Members of the commission are nominated by the member states that they represent, and the Council is made up of the heads of state or government of member states. Commissioners are nothing more than civil servants, and I don’t see you complaining that these aren’t normally elected. Members of the council are determined by democratic means by each member state.

They would have destroyed all copies?

How?! Track down every copy in people’s attics and basements and burn them all? Break into every archive library and do the same?

    Edit:

Actually, before I go any further, what exactly do you think this video is trying to say, Obligatory?

    Moggy,

My interpretation of the video is that the host is implying the recurrence of the ‘6 million’ figure is somehow indicative of a media conspiracy, one that now perpetuates the holocaust. It’s an oft trotted out pieces of bigoted paranoia, that Jews control the media and use it to lie either about the scale, or the occurrence of the final solution.

I’ll grant you that nowhere did the video explicitly state anything, but I think that it is quite clearly implying some rather sinister things.

    Obligatory:

I’m afraid it really is the typical mumbo jumbo, based on the assertion that ‘Jews control the media’ and other such nonsense.

Chas, If you live in the USA, and, just say you are hit by a car, and taken to Hospital, the first thing they ask, is, “Are you Insured?.” If not, my understanding is that you get sent to a lesser hospital, where the treatment is not as good as it would have been, if you did have Insurance.
    Jim.
    Lincoln .7

My understanding is that insured or not, they cannot deny you life saving treatment, but they can still invoice you for it. Either way, medical bills are the number one cause of bankruptcy in the US.

Holocaust denialism is as dangerous as it is vile. Frankly I think you should explain yourself now before you are no longer considered welcome here.

Interesting quote from the article on UK carrier ops,

“With a 60-knot SRVL, the bring- back capability is significant,” said Wilson. “With vertical landings, you are not going to be bringing back 2,000-pound bombs but when was the last time the U.K. was using 2,000- pound weapons?

I’m pretty sure the UK will want to use Storm Shadow (or equivalent) with the F-35B, and these come in at over 2,700lbs.
