    Of course serviceability and the competence of air and ground crews are another matter entirely.

    I think that’s a little bit harsh, and reading too much into a pretty innocuous comment. After all, which sea captain would want to be in the same position as the captain of the Titanic?

    I think we’re missing an obvious solution – why not have a federal union?

    Let all the UK’s constituent nations manage their own internal affairs on their own dime, and then send the members of their respective assemblies to a central parliament to decide on the matters that we undertake together, e.g. defense.

    I don’t condone their actions, I think the marines involved should certainly be reprimanded.

    But it is odd that people seem so outraged over this but not nearly as much as the civilian casualties caused by the war :confused:

    I’m afraid it doesn’t work like that. If you want to quote statistics in any debate, please provide a reference. The onus is always on the person making a claim to provide evidence for that claim. Saying ‘but the evidence is out there, public record, blah blah’ will not suffice.

    Sorry if that sounded snooty 😉

    @ppp

    The rule you linked to is a draft rule currently in the consultation stages – it hasn’t been adopted yet, so it’s probably a bad example.

    As for the road tests, I think that cars have needed an off road theory test for a long time now?
