Wow very interesting, Hawk, Gladiator, Swordfish and Catalina, not bad! I think they’re very good choices, Ju 88 and Do 17 would be nice but hey can’t have everything, maybe they’re releases for next year. I would like it if they released the larger 1/72 aircraft such as the Catalina and Wellington into 1/144 scale for the poor and those with less space.
A Halifax and Stirling would be good as well, personally i’d love a Beaufighter or Auster but i doubt that’ll happen.
The Catalina WAS going to be 1/144th but there was just not enough detail for a diecast model. The 1/72nd version will have folding undercarriage and folding floats. Saw the prototype models last week – SUPERB! RAF Coastal Command PBY-2 with beaching gear and U. S.Navy PBY-5A with tricycle u/c.
Here are another six for the collection.

Ah wonderful and sad memories here:
WF791 was the second “Vintage Pair” machine that I saw crash at Coventry on 30th May ’88.
The ‘NF.11’ is in actual fact the A&AEE’s NF.13 at Abingdon in June 1968.
F8 WH291 I think was taken at Wattisham in May 1967.
T7 WA669 was the original CFS “Vintage Pair aircraft that collided with the Vampire at Mildenhall on 25th May 1986.
No more public discussion of Airline please.
As the copyright do-gooders have stepped in and my PM box was full this am (you know who you are big brother/s) ๐ก
I missed Eastenders last night, but dare i watch what i taped today ???
Its a copyright thing apparently.
Nuff said……….. ๐
.
How ridiculous! Anyone can copy anything for their own private use. Copyright only becomes an issue when the copying is for commercial or monetary gain!
Tales of the Golden Monkey featured a Grumman Goose – Cutter’s Goose to be exact.
…so did Fantasy Island…..”the playn, the playn….” ๐
I recorded every episode of ‘Airline’ using my old ‘piano key’ VCR, and still have it here, in fact I watched the series again a couple of months ago, which prompted me to go onto e-bay and do a search as a result of which I obtained a 45rpm single of the theme tune by Tony Hatch for the princely sum of ยฃ2!
Is it possible to transfer VHS onto DVD? (excuse my ‘Mr Thicky’ mode) I would like to have my Airline series on DVD to preserve the tapes, and I also have a couple of other Dam Buster related VHS tapes I would like to transfer to DVD, any help/pointers/advice gratefully received….
Regards to all,
Keith
If you send me your VHS tapes of Airline, I’ll put them on to DVD for you?
Don’t know why this is today, as 10 Squadron’s disbandment was scheduled for yesterday
Incidently, the “TSR-2 Story” on video has just been re-released on DVD.
Re the Airfix kit, this has been delayed, but should be available any day now.
if you want one, I should snap it up as Hannants have already pre-sold their allocation and cannot get any more! ๐ฎ
Apparently it’s Nasa’s. Fabulous thing to see, I shall never forget it.
Nasa nice picture! ๐
You never mentioned it was a FIVE MINUTE programme! I dashed downstairs at 0801 when my permission came to turn over after the Eastenders signature tune had died away, only to find it finished! ๐
The Gilze-Rijen landing (where that pic was taken) is a notoriously low one, with a lowered fence and all. From all the airbases i’ve seen (literally hundreds), only Mirow-Lรคrz in East Germany has a landing where incoming aircraft cross the public road even lower: no fence between the road and the base at all, only a bit of very nasty 20cm high iron-wire-mesh. Urban myth at Gilze is that a single-decker local bus which ignored the red lights under GR’s runway actually found itself with skid marks of an NF-5 on it’s roof…
I always thought the BAC One-Eleven was known as the ‘bus stop jet’? ๐
what about Bucaneer..? ‘Redair’ Britannias.. ๐

Thanks Neil, don’t remember that as having enough aircraft scenes. ๐
That’s wonderful and exactly what I am doing. PM inbound!
A few more shots attached.
1 337A Super Skymaster G-ATPU without front engine. This is not the end as it became TF-SKY in December 1976.
2 310B G-ARIG
3 G-159 Gulfstream CF-TPC
4 Beech C17L Traveler VH-TOT
5 J/1B Aiglet VR-HFV
6 Beagle B.206S SRS 2 VH-UNLGlyn
Ah the J/1B Aiglet VR-HFV’s location I recognise as the Hong Kong Flying Club.
will these be acceptable?
Looks like Abingdon Fayre last year?
This is actually an ex-Polish Lim-5, G-BWUF, that the OFMC had at Duxford for a few years painted up in North Vietnam colours. They were going to fly it and I believe the only thing stopping them was the CAA paperwork, as there has never been a MiG-17 on the British Civil register. I believe they gave up trying and sold it to the Bournemouth Museum. Whether they overcome this remains to be seen.
