Great selection again. Keep ’em coming.
I read the Meteor T.7 as WA728

Could serial on underside of Anson in second shot be N92??
Does that fit in any Anson serial runs?

“Concorde riverboat” – continuing the long tradition of turning aircraft fuselages into boats???:diablo: would it be a (long and) narrowboat? :diablo:
I agree £20M is a lot of money but think of it this way, the money is being spent on a tourist attraction in the centre of London that happens to feature a Concorde.
It’s quite exciting – be interested in the logistics of getting the aircraft there.
Presumably this will be the airframe still at Heathrow??

Like Martin – a Coventry Kid – I’d dearly love to see a replica Siskin.
The RAFMuseum reportedly has three Siskin wings (one on loan to/on display at Midland Air Museum) acquired about 1970 but which are they?? Are they all the same or three different? – does anyone know? The one at MAM is an upper (can’t remember which side) and, of course, the lower planes were a lot smaller (as it was a sesquiplane)
As always getting plans (and as AA says cash) would be the big stumbling block.

Just thinking out loud…..
Was the Jetstream unique in not being given a military ‘name’ ie civil and military versions all called Jetstream?

Looking fantastic.

…….It will almost certainly mean the closure of a number of businesses and loss of jobs, as flying schools and maintenance operations are going to suffer…………
And we spent how much on our Olympic bid plus how much on organising/building stadiums, etc. because it would benefit businesses and create jobs???????

Fantastic, I know B&W is the most atmospheric etc but I would love to see that Hart in colour! Is it still around?
Further to Planemike’s reply I remember Hart ‘BMR – it was one of several Hawker types maintained by Hawker Siddeley in flying condition. It seemed tragic back when (in the mid 60s?) HSA decided to give the Hart and the Hawker Cygnet to the RAFMuseum – there was an outcry we would no longer see them in the air. Thankfully a few years later Shuttleworth’s acquired the Hind from Iraq. Then, more recently, Don Cashmore built a replica flying Cygnet.
Also thankfully the other two Hawker types continue flying – the Tomtit with Shuttleworth and Hurricane “The Last of the Many” with BBMF.
The Hart and Tomtit were in ‘house’ colour scheme of dark blue with gold registration letters.

I’m sure someone will come along soon with pictures. 🙂

Thanks, Sopwith.

I had been assuming (or should that be hoping?) that the firm in new Zealand who built the static replica RE8 had found/made up new drawings – there was talk of them following on with a flyer.
