Great set of photos – nice to see, thanks for posting.
I first thought wow what a high gloss floor paint until I realised it is water!

ps do you have an identity for the Devon??
Yep, current W&R has it with Aero Antiques and Aero Tech Ltd at Southampton. It says “G-AFSW Chilton DW.2 ex Chilton Manor, Unflown, stored 1.00” (this is last noted).

Sad news

WAKE UP AT THE BACK! :D:D:D

So, to summarize:
you either buy a Daily Mail each day (today and Monday to Friday next week) and visit WHSmith or Tesco each day to exchange coupon for the six DVDs
OR:
you buy four Daily Mails during that period and send off four tokens and a cheque for £5.99.
Good value I reckon – although I’m curious how they divide 15 half-hour episodes into 6 DVDs??

Good news FB – look forward to pics

Some interesting detail of G-AEKL’s colours here.

Hope it’s of use
Barry’s collected photos show two different schemes for G-AEKL !!

A wood prop coming from a crashed aircraft would very likely be broken.
Unles the cause of the crash was engine failure and the prop wasn’t rotating

Plenty of info on here.
Thanks RG – will have a read this evening

Inevitably a documentary can leave questions hanging behind it.
Two things – it was mentioned that the Soviets were not interested (obstructed?) in the enquiry. Did this remain the case all through the enquiry and were any political moves made to smooth the way?
Also, when news got back to Sagan (and, presumably, spread to other camps) about the murders did it have any effect on subsequent escape plans?

Paul – PM replied to.
I have to say I have no connection or contact with Jim Munro and was simply relaying a little bit of what was in his published letter.
If someone does write to him could they suggest he might join the Forum??

Letter in Aeroplane from Jim Munro, 49 Blandy Road, Heley-on-Thames, Oxon, RG9 1QB.
His father was a BoB pilot and “a Squadron Leader of WW-equipped263 Sqdn in 1940-41 based at Drem near North Berwick”
He is making a “very low budget” film about the WW and currently has 7mins of of period film and is seeking more (and still photos). Has interviews with Captain Eric Brown and Sqdn Ldr Alex Torrance (137 Sqdn).
Plan is to have complete (for TV broadcast?) next year for 70th anniversary of BoB.
Anyone who can help contact him at above address.

Always Wright…though many were produced under license by Studebaker automobile company.
For those of you who might wonder about a Merlin-powered B-17, here’s a secret photo of a prototype smuggled at great expense from a secret facility in Norfolk…:diablo:
Of course it’s the Allison-powered XB-38….an concept proposed by B-17 license builder, Vega…who had experience with Allisons in P-38s.
Makes me think of a four-engined Mosquito.

Anyway, back on track, after watching the James May Airfix programme, my 13 yr old Daughter wants to have a go at putting a kit together, only draw back with this is she’s digging around in my highly valuable collection of early Airfix & Frog kits up in the loft:eek:
You need a lock on your loft door mate. Something I failed to do – I haven’t seen my small collection of 1960’s Penthouses since :diablo:

Always pity to see items like these on ebay instead of ending up on a reconstructed airframe. Perhaps the eventual buyer can provide a good home for it.
Cees
Suggest there might be a shortage of airframes to fit it to??? 😀
