collings foundation were planing to do an F105 around the time the mirage news came out….but the USAF cut the engine mounts on all the possible candidates if i recall and that put an end to any chance of it happening.
the only problem is the diameter of the R2600 one Beaufighter was modified to take R2600’s and had much extended nacelle’s…now according to WIKI…the R2800 is a smaller diameter to the herc……..might have to do more checking.

pretty much got it in one….there are still people out there that claim the zero was a copy of an inferior American plane(either the vought V-143 or Howard Hughes claimed the Hughes H1).
i have been trying to straighten people out about the props…..maybe it will sink in one day.
i must admit the only pics i have found of RUK were the ones shown and a couple of it straight out of RAAF service as VH-UWB….still wearing it’s basic RAAF target tug scheme…seems odd there are no other pics of her as VH-UWB.
thanks every one.
just o put a spanner in the works P3351 was built as a MK1 but was upgraded to a MK11a and i believe flies in that configuration even though she’s in the markings she wore as a MK1…..not sure about the others.
