There are published accounts of cases where a pilot of an attacking aircraft was so intent on hitting his target, that he had totally forgotten where his fall of shot would lie, i.e. in the streets and fields below. I know this account doesn’t mention another aircraft, but it’s something else to be thrown into the melting pot !!!!
I doubt very much if this aircraft was a captured Spitfire at this point in the war. I would expect that any aircraft captured intact would have been thoroughly inspected by the Germans to glean any information they could on the aircrafts attributes to help them in their fight against the RAF.
Much later in the war, there were recorded sighting of unusually marked “allied” aircraft shadowing the US bomber streams heading towards German.
