Plenty of curtainsiders coming from Esbjerg to Immingham.
As for manually feathering the props, chances of that having been done are slim if you ask me. You’d have to drain the oil out of the engines and use a tool to twist the blades.
Didn’t the B26 use Curtis Electric props? I assume these can be feathered without the engines running.
The knurled sleeve is the threaded insert from a plastic knob.
There are certainly parts in the 390th BG Museum at Parham in Suffolk. The dig was before my time of involvement there but I bet Ian McLachlan can give you all you need.
It’s a No. 151 fuze from a mortar bomb.
I can’t see why America would have wanted to license build our designs. The Merlin aside, they didn’t license build anything else, and indeed their own designs were far more suited to mass production.
They did adopt the 6 pr anti tank gun and produce it as the 57mm M1. Substantially the same, it differed in many ways. They certainly had no interest in producing British tanks, despite much effort spent in trying to persuade them.
This one got barely a mention.
Privately owned, fully erect, amazing condition and in a secure store…I cold called in passing in 2006. 🙂

I did the same in 2003 and was lucky enough to be granted similar access. I took a picture from the left hand seat!
Probably a No4 Mk1, that’s what we have in our Auster IV (or will have when we eventually finish it!).
Sold now but good info for a further search.

Ferret scout car used an aluminium wheel, 9.00-16 tyre size and Stalwart also used an alloy rim, 14.00-20 size. 8 stud is likely the former, looks the right size too.
A-26 was redesignated B-26 once the original B-26 Marauder was out of service.
The correct fuel gauge is on the right.
Not for a Spitfire it isn’t. Isn’t that for a Hurricane?
The ebay one is obviously a poor fake however, probably from a panel someone made up and made to fill a hole.
Less kit bag, more body bag…….
Main fuel tank and pilots back for Mk1 were both 3/16″.
No worries Anthony, thanks anyway.

I don’t wish to hijack Kens thread but I also need some Auster parts for a Mk IV return to flight. Specifically upper and lower engine cowlings for the O-290. We have the drawings but would really like to obtain a set, condition not (too) important!
Thanks in anticipation.
