We’re in an age where religion is increasingly taking a back seat, so of course people find it alarming when their children are being exposed to hardline religious practices.

I hope this is the start of a process that will result in all schools being secular by law. The indoctrination of children into any religion, whether at home or at school, is highly immoral IMO.

This week we were down to the regulars only so a little down on staff, however we had a busy and productive day. I was in early and I always like to have a look round to see what’s changed during the week. This week our Harrier had moved, its new back drop looks good.

Rich and myself are planning a long weekend working on her soon, so hopefully you will see some progress.

The area behind the Harrier looks like it would make for a perfect Cold War, woodland clearing Harrier diorama, with some camo nets etc. 😎

And yet none of you who decry the EU seem to be pushing for an elected Head of State for the UK.

As for Barrosso, the President of the European Commission is voted for by the EU Parliament, which is pretty similar to how the PM of the UK get his/her job as well. We don’t vote for the PM directly either, but again you don’t see any complaints about this. Makes me think that people who don’t like the EU use the ‘non-democratic’ criticism of it very selectively.
    .

The monarchy safe guards our democracy. They have the power to dissolve the government if necessary, and our armed forces are sworn to them. I would much prefer a head of state who is groomed for the position their whole life, than an ambitious, lying, opportunistic, short term politician.

Ah, got you – that opinion for that sort of centre ground. Stick with the herd and don’t bleat too loud.

Yes, that centre ground, that is being pushed ever further towards the right as the political establishment continue to push to the left.

And the Daily Mail continues to be the banner carrier for fascism that it was in the 1930s. Although these days it has as just much interest in celebrity…

Equal, and opposite ends of the same spectrum. 🙂

My opinion is based on the fact that the Guardian is full of left wing drivel. Like the BBC, it is little more than a propaganda machine for Labour. It is the most politically biased newspaper in the UK, and I include the Daily Heil in that statement. All in my humble opinion, of course. 🙂

If it is of any relevance at all, my political pendulum swings firmly towards the center ground. I’m just sick of the Westminster establishment and the public sector damaging this country with its left wing agenda.

I don’t know what people expect these days, all the papers are terrible. Although it’s easy to give the Mail and the Express a bashing, the Guardian is the worst of them all IMO.

Perhaps we’re due a posthumous ‘I told you so’ from Mr Powell?

Just a thought but, if/when Scotland achieves independence where does that leave Ukip? After all, the UK will no longer be the UK so what happens to a group declaring itself to be the UK Independence Party…?

    rUKIP 😀

Love the story of the 89 year old veteran whose care home said he couldn’t go.

    Where is he now?

    Ouisterham!

I could just imagine him whistling the Great Escape theme while walking out. 😀

No. It’s the way to make sure Miliband gets in and we have no referendum.

How stupid can UKIP voters be?

    Moggy

It doesn’t really matter which one of the 3 legacy parties are in power, they all want the EU.

Just seen what looks like a stunning display by the BBMF over Arromanches, sadly the BBC made a total hash of the camera work. 🙁 Hopefully some better video will surface.

Can anyone explain to me why the grinning faces of that unelected, unaccountable duo Barroso and Humpty Dumpty are seen at G7 summits?

Their presence at the D-day anniversary is an affront to everything we fought for. Publicly unelected, autocratic dictators should have no place in modern society.
