Partly to bring this to the surface and suggest that it be pinned to the front page again. I think used to be, but when I open up the historic page now it does not appear.
I had to google to find it as I was trying to identify some parts!
Thanks AM, everyone. This has been very helpful. I think we have enough now to go and try things!
FYI, Dave from DSG also provided this link:ย https://www.lancasterbombers.net/books-notebooks-manuals/
The whole Lancaster parts book is there, so that will help us with the sections missing from the Lincoln manual we now have.
Cheers.
Thank you feroxeng. I see what you mean. We will keep that in mind.
Thanks Adrian. One of our team members has been in communication with East Kirkby and will take this up.
Cheers.
Hi all.
An update on the needed parts for Vampire FB.9 R1382…
I have secured one RH canopy rail, p/n A001676, but still need a NOS or corrosion free LH canopy rail p/n A001675 (Ref. 26FC/2893).
We are still also after a NOS pressurisation/inflatable sealย 12FC89A or A005177A. These are of course at risk of perishing or failing during use, but we are trying our luck!
Some of the contacts TonyT posted have been helpful for one thing or another and I’m sure they will continue to be. Some contacts I am given or find prove to be unhelpful or elusive!
That’s life ๐

Hi TonyT and TexanTomcat2.
I was looking through old posts of mine to close out one part found and still looking for others when I found this.
Thank you for your responses – I never saw them at the time. I must have gone into one of my intense spells of occupation by other things ๐
So a late thank you for your help. I did manage to sort the pivot bolt and bobbin nut problem.
Cheers.
Golly gosh. Whoever it is has quite a store by the looks of it.
Hi all. I’m chasing Dave’s advice and still chasing other leads. Still looking for the answer, so I’m still after help if anybody has other thoughts ๐
Looking great. Thanks for always keeping us up to date ๐
Email received, Dave. Thanks.
This item closed out now. Thanks.
Thanks Terry. Yes I have the parts manual ๐
Thanks Air Ministry. Sounds like it was a good adventure.
Thanks Aircraft. I suppose there is an earlier post about this ๐
Is it attached to the airframe by the same means? Doesn’t seem like enough holes around the top edge. NOS not installed in an aircraft? You can see that a lot of the press switches etc had been installed.
Hello AM. Your instrument panel for a four-engined aircraft is closely related to the Lincoln. There are detail features which are identical – some of the cut-outs for switches and ‘things’ plus some of the edge trim. The cut-out for the BFP also has identical features. I have pointed some of those features in the images below. This is the panel from the Lincoln Mk30 A73-27.

Hello Hoverbird.
A great topic. I was keen about the idea of finding the booklet by Kย Meekcoms, so googled it. There is a Google library reference for it, but the more interesting result that came up was this one…
https://www.theaerodrome.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51292
Apparently the member of that forum ‘Bletchley’ has a copy of Meekcoms – you might want to try through that forum, although the post does date from 2011.
Also, the googling indicates there is a person KJ Meekoms who has co-authored Air Britain books, some of which are somewhat related in a general way. The books date back 20 years or so but maybe he is still about. Try contacting through Air Britain?
Cheers.
