Dave Webbs minted Hunter GA11, WV381 making its public debut.

Not quite true matey….Dave’s Hunter was actually at last years 10th Anniversary Abingdon Air & Country Charity Show.Since last May Dave has done a lot of work on her and Al Ain would be her first appearance since re-paint etc,but not strictly speaking her public debut

Here’s hoping WV381 and Dave have a successful trip and safe journey back to Oxfordshire, and look forward to seeing them both at 2010 Abingdon Air & Country Charity Show on May 2nd(http://www.abingdonfayre.com)

    regards

Sandy was certainly with us up till last year…a mate of mine bought some model railway(I think???) stuff off him via e-Bay and had to visit Sandy to collect his purchase

The Vampire,as Bruce so rightly says,is based at North Weald and is scheduled to make a return appearance to this year’s 2010 Abingdon Air & Country Charity Show on May 2nd

    regards

After a lengthy debrief on the 2014 Abingdon Air & Country show, we
have decided this year in light of a better year (after the essential
bills have been paid) to donate to the Thames Valley & Chiltern Air
Ambulance Trust £10,000 – add on their generated donations via buckets
of £1000 – so a total generated by the show of £11,000 – so thats now
total of £53,388.70 to the Air Ambulance since 2007, a further £14,000
to Douglas House Respice Centre (2001 – 06), £500 to Lily Gulshat
    Fund(http://void.printf.net/~heth/gulshatfund/index.shtml)
£500 to Heyford Park community centre, plus a further £1000 from 2014
to the Gabriel Masih fund (has diplegia cerebral palsy and needs a life
    changing operationhttps://www.justgiving.com/paula-masih-gill1/ )
and approx (still being verified) £800+ to
localised Air Training Corp units that have helped us over time . Thank
    you for your support..

At this point it is worth mentioning that Abingdon Air & Country Show
    is NOT run by a full-time Events Management Company,but a 6-person
all-volunteer Organising Committee, led by Neil Porter who put the show
together in their spare time from work(for example we have grounds
maintenance, bus driver and postie among the Organising Committee). We
all sacrifice much time over a 9-month period to bring this show to you
and also sacrifice a weeks Annual Leave to put the showground and
car-park together in the days leading up to the show and return it to a
fit state on the Bank Holiday Monday before handing the airfield back
to the Army on Tuesday after the show
The show is pretty much self-financing costing us in excess of £70k
    to
put together and don’t forget that after our bills have been paid and a
little set aside to kick-start next years show,we make a healthy
donation to the local Thames Valley & Chiltern Air Ambulance Trust…an
Charity based vital asset to the local emergency services that all-too
often is mentioned in the Press as attending an incident and Heaven
forbid any one of us could need it at any time anywhere in any situation

Old thread I know but it was good to see G-FLYP at Abingdon yesterday. I had hoped it might do a flyby but it stayed in the visitors park all day.

Nice low departure from Abingdon by G-FLYP this morning…certainly brightened up a grey damp day for those of us on the airfield breaking down the show-site and clearing up all the litter
