Spot on – I forget whether it is a T7 with an F8 tail or an F8 with a T7 nose, but it’s MB’s unofficial designation. See page 11.

Antonov An124 in the circuit for Brize and a skinny 4 engined job that looked a bit like a 707 also headed Brizewards, both early afternoon today.

    Hi Mike
an An-124 was seen overhead Chilton yesterday morning inbound Brize(appx 0900hrs)

Didn’t see your “skinny 4 engined job”,but would guess it could have been Airbus A340,reg HZ-124.This aircraft seems to be there more than the VC10s and Tristars
    hope this helps

Nothing based there! No need for me to turn up Saturday and be duty dog on the VGS then.
The Vigilants may have Air Cadets writen on their side but they also have military serials, a Military Aircraft Release, not a C of A and the instructors fear the RAF Central Flying School rather than the Campaign Against Aviation.
612 VGS is RAF Abingdon

…….sometimes hear a rumour of a civvy light aircraft or two based there, but never had that confirmed
    any ideas Aeronut????

Think the Velocity is retractable u/c,so most likely a Vari- or Long-Eze(either way a pretty rare sight in these ‘ere parts,eh???)
Had a Yak of some kind enjoying itself over Didcot yesterday afternoon, but other than that all pretty quiet!!!!!!!!!!

Kent Air Show, Abingdon Fayre. Second one is definitely an unrealistic wish but you did say list where you would like it to appear.

    😀 😀 ………….
sadly,Mike, your second wish is unrealistic, much as we’d like it.
Now,if anyone knows a mega-magic formula to pick the correct 6-numbers then maybe………………………….

I wonder if the Chinook was ZA675 the one just repatriated in a C-17 from Afghanistan, having suffered a heavy night landing.

    ZA704,
apparantly later parked up at Pear Tree Services near Oxford
