Chinook on a low-loader heading north on A34 past Didcot appx 1330hrs on Thursday 14th Sept(not exactly historic, but certainly something a bit different)
BBMF Spit Mk9 overflew eastern edge of Didcot after flypast at Benson appx 1830hrs same day, while one hour later a Merlin and Puma were over Didcot in formation(again not a formation you see everyday)

Ollie.
The BAe146’s are part of No.32 (The Royal) Squadron RAF.
The Queen’s Flight per sey ceased to exist when this squadron was formed.
Gary
Very true Gary, though all three ‘146s(ZE700,ZE701,ZE702) were originally delivered to,and operated by TQF at Benson during the late ’80s/early ’90s……

Went Sunday, and agree with AW ref marshalling(almost tempted to take bull by horns and get my gloves out at one point???)
Not the busiest of Rallys(maybe weather, maybe not),but from a spotters PofV still “made” 130 so well satisfied.
Her’s hoping the sums add up and we can all do it again in better weather next year

If you stay in the Wellingborough Travelodge I can give you a lift into the show Rob. Be a very early start though.
Only problem is Travelodges don’t cater for families of five!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
At least not in one room.
Lord Kenley……
if you PM me some contact details I’ll pass them on to a recent owner of this Tiger Moth and ask him to contact you

Ten points to you Colin! JJ it was flying again as of February this year after an immaculate rebuild by Ted. This time in the hands of myself and my father on one of our regular trips over the Didcot and Abingdon area where this aeroplane is very much at home! Here’s a pic from this weekend.
Very nice………
Ted is a member of my Oxfordshire Aviation Group,& I was with him at Duxford yesterday…that’s when I mentioned the sighting of JJ over Radley
Colin
Nice to be noticed from the ground!
Tigerpilot
cheers mate…always good to see a Tiger Moth.
Just out of curiosity which Tiger Moth were you flying….was speaking to a mate who is Tiger Moth owner living not too far from Didcot, and he thinks it may have been his aircraft…G-AOJJ???????
Colin
Thanks mate. I wouldn’t have noticed but for hearing the engine note before I saw it and looked up. Where is 965 based? if it’s North Weald, I’d hazard aguess that would have been the one as the route looked a bit too far south to have been headed for DX
Mike
PL965 is indeed based at Nth Weald.
Had a yellow Tiger Moth overfly Radley, near Abingdon this afternoon heading south-ish(was manning publicity/sales stall at Radley village fete for the Abingdon Air & Country Show 2007)
Colin
Morning Mike
didn’t see so only a guess,but……………
both the Grace T9,ML407, and Peter Teichmann’s PR11,PL965 were at Brize Norton Families Day last Saturday…so probably one of these two
