A Heinkel crashed just off Salthouse and pieces of this are regularly washed up on the beach, particularly near where the pillbox is marooned.
I believe that the Navy blew part of the wreck up as it was an underwater hazard.

Hi all,
Thanks for your replies. I am talking aluminium. I want to remove the grime before I decide whether to preserve as is, or strip and repaint.
Cheers,

Just to add a public thanks to Mark for sending those really useful scans, and an apology for calling him Karl
Jason, please could you let me know the sellers details?
Cheers,
TEC
Hi Mark, thank you for highlighting those links. I had not been able to locate those or anything similar. I have sent you a PM in response to your extremely kind offer. I imagine those manuals are pretty rare.
Tony, thank you for your message. Will follow that up.

Or even further afield (US)? I also need placards.

Thanks Bruce, at least I know it’s aircraft related.
I have attached a photo of the markings? Am I correct in thinking Westland and Argosy? Although all Argosy’s I have seen have 4 bladed props?

Thank you for the information. At least I know the part existed!
I have not found any plans as yet, but have found a period photo with the panel laying on the floor under the wing whilst a ground crewman is working in the gun.
Thanks folks. Now I know for certain what it is, I will make am offer and see where I get!

Now I am even more confused. It looks like every single panel has a number of hard to find or ridiculously expensive instruments in it!
What I am trying to do is build a nice panel around my flat topped blind flying panel – are there any other options out there?! I am not entirely sure which aircraft were fitted with the flat BFP rather than the curved top variant?
Cheers

Thanks for the info folks.
Sam – will PM you.
Bruce – did you get my PM regarding instruments please?
Many thanks,
TEC
Just bumping this up, have not had any replies 🙁
I’d suggest sending a PM to Air Ministry on this forum.
Thanks Andy, will give it a go!
Hi FoxVC10, i was thinking Canberra although not sure which variant. I will check the part number again shortly.
The panel is the early war 6A/616 rectangle so would have been fitted with luminous instruments so not really worried about the marks etc.
Thanks
Thanks guys, thats great. The photo of Thunderbird provides a near perfect match although mine doesnt have a hollow end.
I thought that there must be thousands of these things around but am having trouble finding any for referrence.
Am convinced it is definately B17 now.
Thanks folks.
