Hows this?
😀 😀 😀
Yes please. Can we all e-mail him. Try and make him realise how much of a tw*t he is. This particular subject irritates me no end and i shall be writing a nice little e-mail to him asap.
I live very close to Headcorn and a friend of mine lives there. I remember visiting one day, a summers day, and when i arrived i could see over towards Headcorn a Yak52 was doing a aerobatic routine. It wasn’t overly noisy and i just looked at it and smiled. My friends mum then came out of the house and said something like ‘bl**y aeroplanes always flying about making a noise, they should shut the place down!’. At this point i was fuming! I was just about to explode at her with the likes of, ‘You knew there was an airfield here when u moved in, you all did! it has been there a lot longer than you my dear…’ And so on. However, i held back and just said. ‘I quite enjoy it really’. She really didn’t understand.
This really, really REALLY pi**es me off. They have no right AT all. My model flying club use Headcorn as one of their sites and we have been good friends with the Freeman family. They are ever so tollerant, but the locals really make their life hell. GRRRRRR. i could go on, but they are not worth the keyboard power.
When i saw the first picture above i thought it was on jacks. When i couldnt see any jacks and pilots in the aircraft i got worried… It’s airbourne, but seems tobe flying completely deadstick! lol, talk about prop blur, or lack of it, wow!
On a serious note, thats great news, another flying cat. Excellent work.
Now this is a Spitfire… 😉 😉 😉
To be honest they don’t look as good as the FB spitfires IMHO. And the best Spits you can get for FS2002/CFS2 are the Paul Rebuffat ones.
Looking at the screenshots above, Some of the angles look wrong and the proportions are a little out. Don’t get me wrong, i’m sure they have spent some time making these models, but i could instantly see fault with them. Now i will open up FB and drool. 😉
Why didn’t she display? I’ve heard before that it’s because they charge too much for an aerial display therefore it often stays put. Anyone know? Great oppertunity missed there i think, the Sea Fury is a gorgeous aeroplane and would have contributed to some superb photo oppertunities with other participants. Just my thought of day…
Well, at duxford last week i could see in one of the buildings behind the hangers (63 or 66 i think) complete upper and lower wings, Fin and tailplane of what is probably their new Hawker Nimrod. There was also a 1:48scale model of said Nimrod with corresponding colours in a glas case in the window. The fuselage was not present but i’m sure it’s not far away. Also, judging by how complete the components looked i wouldn’t be at all surprised if it flew this year.
Good work, can’t wait to see two nimords together! Maybe even their Hawker Hind and the shuttleworth example… hmmm, lead by their Hawker Audax! Will be a great site when it happens.
Superb photos
Thanks for sharing your great photos Frank. They certainly look good in B+W. i hope you don’t mind, but i have fiddled with my faveorite one of Twilight Tear to get rind of those pesky non-authentic Land Rovers in the background!
Here it is…
It could almost be Duxford 1944/5!
Thanks James, sounds interesting! i’m glad it’s sorted too…
Incidentally, when is Mr. Patterson gracing us with his presence this weekend? I have yet to meet the chap.

Ok, first of all Thanks for all your support guys! It’s also nice to know i’m not the first person to do this. I tried ringing more campsite a bit further afield and was starting to feel a little beaten… But, i think i’ll be ok. Found a little site near Ely just north east of Cambridge. Its about 25miles to DX, but thats better than driving all the way from Maidstone in Kent there and back twice! It seems a pretty straight forward journey too. Down the A10, around cambridge to the M11 and then bingo, one gleaming Imperial War Museum with many boys toys to marvel at.
Once again, thank you all for your support and help. This forum proves it’s worth through the generous and helpful people who use it. I’m gald to be part of this community.
I also hope to see some of ou over the weeked.
kind regards,
Chris
Great shelford is fully booked like all of the other campsites i have tried… Keep trying i guess.

RE: The video of Biggin Hill.
I’ve been trying to get in touch with Eric Mc who is the next in line for the video, but after PMs and board messages – no reply. I apologise, i have been so busy over the last two months with University work that i havent had the chance to get on the board as much. I am going to send it on to the next person who i believe is Ashley. So if you could PM me your Address i will get it off to you ASAP. Alternatively, i will be at Flying Legends all weekend, so i could give it to you then?
Let me know…
And sorry again for the delay guys!
Steve, i really appreciate the fact you made it possible for me to see it. i was too young/not born at the time and it’s cracking video 😉
