Delta have two daily services from MAN. They serve Atlanta with B767s and New York (JFK) with B757s. 😎
That’ll be why then, thanks for the info.;)
Great selection there Lance, thanks for sharing.:)
Just one minor observation, you may not be able to help but anyways, I’ve noticed Delta appear to be operating a 757-200(w) into MAN at the moment, do you know if there is any particular reason for this as they normally use 767s, don’t they?
Great shots there Sam, love the Virgin A340 and Emirates A380 ones.
You must have been in almost the same location as to where I was when I was at LHR on the same day as it seems to be at a very similar angle to where I took my picture of the QF A380.:)
Wow Mike, good on you for braving the weather.
Love the KL F70 shots, especially the last one, very nice indeed.
Shame we couldnt go to Stansted, but given the weather I think we made the right choice not to.:)
Thanks for all your kind comments, am really happy now.
I have a few more photos from the same day, will post them up in a few days if you would like to see them?:)
Has BAWC been told to stop the night flights at Stansted and thats why they are trying Manston?
James
I think you’ll find MSE will be offering cheaper landing/handling fees than what STN currently do, so that could partly affect the decision to want to move.
Overall though, I think this is great news for MSE if it does work out.
Seeing as the current government constantly bleats on about the importance of aviation to UK economy, I am sure the creation of jobs and potential development opportunities at MSE will warm their hearts as it will help to improve the airport’s profile; it seems to be forgotten about!
Now all they’ve got to work on is getting some more regular pax scheduled services to/from the airport.:)
Some very nice pictures there PlaneSpace…my favourite has to be the KL Fokker 50 one!:)
Thanks for sharing.
All I know that one EK A380 was kept at LHR due to engine problems…there was suppose to be an Atlas 747F bringing a new engine in, but then it was deemed unsafe to attempt to change as there is not a hanger big enough to accomodate the A380 at LHR yet, so it flew to DXB on three engines!
The tower tapes are now released
(The real thing this time)
Moggy
Damn it Moggy, I preferred the non-original version!:D

I was just sat here thinking that it’s about bl00dy time I finished what I started and shared the rest with you!
Be honest now, you just wanted to keep us all in suspense didnt you, keep us all guessing, build up the tension and then belt us with yet another fabulous stage of your journey so that we’d all be overcome with jealousy once again…?:D:diablo::p
Great report, seeing those pics brought back my memories from my trip there last year, Hawaii is certainly a beautiful place to visit.
Did you go to Pearl Harbour whilst you were there at all?
Make sure you don’t fly on a 767 though, as there is no seat back TV on these.
Do you know if this is the same for the 767s that are used on domestic flights, as we would be flying on one between JFK and SFO?
Also, what are AA’s MD-80’s like, as we will also be travelling on one of these when travelling between SFO-LAX, in order to get our return flight back to LHR?
Also, I am aware that CO charge $5 for each alcoholic beverage, does AA do the same and if so how much do they charge?
Seeing as you haven’t flown AA before I would definately give them a try, my trip report has some more detail about my flights :).
Yes, it would be good to fly on an airline that I have never flown on before, however, CO operate the 757-200w on the LHR-EWR route, which happens to be my favourite aircraft.
Decisions, decisions…:o
Discuss.;)

Well there’s not much to discuss to be honest, other than the obvious fact that is it way better than the BA one!:)
I think that this one looks quite goood…although I would of done the individual airlines name/logo underneath the ‘oneworld’ lettering.;)

Firstly, you need to crop to a 3:2 or 4:3 aspect ratio if you want to get accepted on the likes of JP. “Letterbox” cropping looks unnatural. Personally I prefer 3:2.
Forgive me for asking what is probably a stupid question, but what do you mean by ‘aspect ratio’?:o
I assume you have the 18-55 lens?…Stick to whole body shots until you have a longer lens.
Indeed, I do have the standard 18-55mm lens, however I do also have a Tamron 70-300mm lens as well (it came with the camera as a package from Jessops!), all of the pics were taken using the latter of the two!
With regards to the LCY shots, try to get the sun behind you. I know the spot well and it’s excellent for spotting, but horrible for photography…
I agree, its a great spot as the view across from the water is amazing, and you get to see far more activity than you do if your stood by the side of the terminal. I only had an hour or so at LCY, so I did not bother trying both locations this time, but I will bear the sunlight issue in mind for the future.
One last thing, on the editing software you’re using…
Well this is where I feel I need the most help to be perfectly honest. Besides cropping the images, I have not edited them in anyway; the software I used is Corel MediaOne, which comes with Paint Shop Pro Ultimate that I recently purchased. I do not even know how to use the full Paint Shop Pro program to even begin to edit my images…I have so much to learn its sometimes overwhelming and on occasions my motivation weakens because I am anxious to be out there taking even more photos!:(
And of course, thanks for sharing! Hope this advice is good for you!
Well thank you for taking the time to look and comment.
At this stage, any advice/feedback is invaulable because like I said in my initial post this is my first real attempt at aviation photography using a digital SLR camera.
I really need and want to get to know how to use my camera properly, as I am currently in the process of establishing a part-time photography business, and in order to make money from it I am going to have produce photos to a much higher standard.
I feel that taking picture of aircraft is a good starting point to get to know how to use the camera because its quite challenging, and hopefully once my confidence increases I’ll soon begin to produce some better quality images; never know some might end up on A.net or JP; that would be a great achievement!:)
Anyone else got any advice/feedback they wish to share, please feel free to post below or even PM me if necessary.
And some more…

And now for the random image of the day; I know this is of a train, but I was really happy with the outcome of the picture itself that I thought I would share it with you all…
