I’m popping off to the West coast of the States next monday for a month as a little graduation present to myself. Am starting off in Seattle and have booked the Future of Flight Aviation Center & Boeing Tour.
Was just wondering if anyone else had been on this and could perhaps comment on what to expect? And is it easy to get to from Seattle? Also, they don’t permit you to take photographs so unfortunately I won’t be able to share any of those with you!
Hi judas,
I have done the same tour as you mention above when I was in Seattle a couple of years ago!
I found it amazing, the Future of Flight Aviation centre is really interesting, lots of information and a mock up of the 787 as well…although I am not sure how much of it will of changed since i went there!
As for the factory tour itself, it is quite good as you actually get to see an aircraft in production, we were shown the 777 production hanger and saw an Emirates aircraft in production.
As for photos, there is a very strict policy of no photos whatsoever…they are so strict that they do not even allow you take mobile phones with you as most come with cameras nowadays, and they simply will not let you use it for both security and safety reasons…disappointing i know, but you have to respect their decision!
Well worth doing though in my opinion!
Have been told by G.A that he could not see the video, although it works fine for me?
Anyone else having the same problem/s?
If so, apologises about that as well (it all appears to of all gone wrong!:o) so here’s the link to the video through YouTube:
Damn…my cover has been blown!:D:diablo:
Funny story Newforest, I wonder what other animals have caused problems at airports?
Open water [2003]
Don’t know why, but I really didnt like this film, thought it was a bit…well boring really! Glad I didnt pay to go and see it at the cinema, anyone else feel the same at all?

I think everyone else was thinking of their stomachs judging by the comments about the cake…as no-one has thought to wish you congratulations, so CONGRATULATIONS!
Just out of interest, what prompted you to get married at an airport, bit of a strange venue isn’t it?

Hi Matt,
Some great photos there. I love the shot of the First Choice 767 aircraft.
I noticed the sticker on the side to the right of the door, underneath the FC logo, something to do with Thomsonfly but cant quite make it out?
And am I right in thinking that the aircraft in the background, just coming into view on the far left-hand side, would be an Air Malta A319/A320?
Just out of interest, what camera did you use?
N.B. Just before anyone cleverly decides to comment by saying ‘his sisters’, I am well aware of that, I am interested to know what type of camera!:D
And lastly, welcome to the forum! Keep up the good work.
How about having a disused 727-200 as a humble home Paul?
Total cost = $315k (approx £161k), although I doubt that includes the cost of shipping the necessary bits over the UK, and you must own the land underneath the aircraft which could be costly, but still much cheaper than buying a normal house these days I think, and would certainly be an interesting experience!:D
Some excellent pics there Paul, although I must say my favorite is actually the Eastern Airways one, I love their latest livery!
Just a quick question, who is ‘Capital’ (the shot after the Flybe ERJ), are they actually an airline or possibly a charter operator?
I think its a dig at the mainline airlines who charge huge fares for very little but that you should expect much much more than you get.
Besides the addition of ‘oral sex’ (which, lets face it, will never actually happen because it will never be made legal to offer that kind of service onboard!), what exactly would M’OL be offering that is different to any of the mainline airlines?
If he had come out and said something like “If you book early enough in advance, you can fly in business-class for as little as 50 Euros one-way inc taxes!”, that might of raise more of an eyebrow, but this latest statement has simply re-affirmed my opinion that he is a complete twit!:D
I was there – but the photos were crap that i got as his entire fleet used the 27L for landing as opposed to 27R like the other aircraft
The reason they changed to 27L is because the Royal Suite, which is used for arriving/departing VIPs/dignitries, is located very close by so they would have just be able to land and pull up outside rather than having the a/c having to do a circuit of LHR’s taxiways and cross 27L!
Biggest problem is when the airspace around LHR has to be closed off to all other air traffic, so it can cause lots of delays to normal flights…if it were me I think I would put it in the stacks and make him wait just like everyone else…”Welcome to London Mr President, sorry for the delay!”:D
Oh dear, very sad news indeed.:(
Just when I thought there was a glimmer of hope that it might take to the skies again. I do hope all the staff are able to find new employment elsewhere soon…
Oh dear, not good news at all.
I wonder what impact this will have on Kent International Airport, as MK were one of (if not the) largest cargo operator out of MSE???
It was hoped that if cargo airlines managed to increase the profile of the airport, it might encourage other airlines to consider offering passenger services from there, but so far there has only been seasonal charter services since the failure of EUJet, which was almost three years ago (that long ago, how time flies!)…:(
Damn! Whilst that is an excellent picture, it does just go to show how a much more serious tradegy might of occurred had the aircraft fallen down the embankment…
Thank god that it was a cargo plane that crashed (imagine if it was full of passengers!); combined with any potential train wreckage, the injury/death toll would of been much higher indeed!
Don’t ask why I was looking on this site!!!!
Nothing wrong with looking at that site at all mate, I will openly admit to being interested in trains, but to a lesser extent than what I am interested in aircraft/planes.:)
