Except that we’re not talking ‘sides’ are we; the ‘accusation’ is about the possible duplicity of our ‘allies’. 😉

Why would they nescessarily be regarded as allies in this situation? (I’m not suggesting they weren’t BTW)
The Falklands conflict was a non NATO British, Argentina affair, and as said above the French did help the RN to counter Exocet.

France was legitimately fulfilling a contract to a foreign customer, exactly how we might in a hypothetical war between another nation and France.

Could it have been part of the Royal Naval FlyingTraining Flight that was based there?
Also an RAF Balliol T.2 crashed while trying to perform an emergency landing at Roborough, c 1956.

Haven’t Manchester put theirs under cover?

I actually tried wording my post carefully to avoid this, by ‘national’ I mean IWM, RAFM, Science Museum, FAAM, East Fortune. I know Manchesters’ Shack belongs to the RAFM, but it isn’t displayed on their premises.
I should have distinguished between the Maritime and AEW variants though, there are no MR variants preserved undercover or on a national site,

I believe this was mentioned in Flypast last year a total of 12 aircraft are up for disposal.

Does anyone know if the Shackleton is still under the threat of disposal from the IWM?
I just wish a ‘national’ would cherish these beasts and permanantly put one undercover on their premises.

I always find electrics to be a dark art, but weren’t the American bombers essentially 28v systems?

Yesterday the museum hosted a short commemoration event for those lost in the 1957 Sutton Wick Beverley crash and details can be found in a short news item in here!

What a tragic loss, fantastic to see museums such as this commemorating and remembering these local events and personel lost.

Aircraft shown are TG504, ‘505, ‘511, ‘517, and ‘622, add these to TG565, ‘566, ‘567, ‘572, ‘616, and ‘623 mentioned above, according to web sources the last six Hastings were completed at Radlett as C(Met).1 airframes, with nineteen being converted there, though unsure if the nineteen includes the final six?

They look fantastic in the all over dark sea grey scheme, does anyone here know the colour of the cheatline?
