Personally I don’t think the Primeminister is as involved as that (though nothing will surprise me now!), he made a decision to get rid of Coulson, so he made an error of judgement in the first place but then did something about it – I can’t ask more than that of someone.
It does beg the question though, I wonder how much was known about this back then when Coulson was let go?

Pagen – a couple of points. Firstly this thread is about police curruption – there is another dealing with the whole hacking matter. Secondly, you suggest I am being defensive. Well perhaps that is your interpretation, but I would see it as my attempt to be as rational and objective as possible.

Nope.
This is as bad as it gets and shows that our systems of power, protection, and information is riddled with corruption, it is of major public concern.
This isn’t simply about bent coppers, shoddy journalism, or easily impressed MPs anymore.
The sad thing is that Murdoch is at the very top of the triangle, yet he will get away with this as others fall on their career swords, take their lives, and live in the knowledge that their dead loved ones had their personal information hacked into.

This is a genuine question SH, you seem quite defensive over this matter here and in other threads, just out of interest what can possibly be said in the defence of the Journalists, police, and anyone else concerned with this scandal?

Even more constructive, if you can travel this Wednesday is Culdrose air day be well worth a visit and a natter to the bods down there.

I think you will find the Navy would be a great place to do the same trade, have you visited Yeovilton or Culdrose? They both knock most RAF bases into a cocked hat!
Plenty of rotarys (ignore Moggys simplistic comment, a Merlin is more tech than a lot of fixed wing types), fixed wing is a bit scarce at the moment, I think the Hawks and King Airs are all maintained by civies, the good Dr will know more on those.
Personaly I would seriously consider the Navy.
