This is WF124 676 CW after a crash landing in 1956, notice the thimble radome lying on the floor. It was a bullet shapped afair which was suspended on a framework within the nose structure, the panel work around it was cut away to allow the radome to protrude right through.

The station itself is an extremely busy RAF Logistics centre, I thought that the airfield was becoming home to Grob Tutors but can’t find much on that?

An interesting project with a fascinating result. So what if it isn’t to scale, the spirit of the Mosquito is there, which I’m sure is what they were aiming for.

Precisely, its a very well spirited homage to the Mosquito, it dosen’t matter that it dosen’t share every feature or look exactly like it. Anyone who knows anything about flying scale replicas knows that it is very difficult to scale down all the aerodynamic features of the original and get them to work properly in the air.
The guys have got off their backsides and produced something which certainly has the feel and looks of the real thing to most – let us enjoy it for what it is.
To then have a go at the original poster because of his choice of word was ‘replica’ is franky ubsurd.
There really seems to be a sanctimonious attitude by some towards these sorts of things, with negative comments not being backed up by any reasoning.
If you don’t like it, or don’t have anything thoughtful to say, don’t look at it!

Healthy debate is good – especially if it is done in the manner of mutual respect of everyone’s views.

Please don’t pretend that this is healthy debate!

Blimey… ‘Replica’ – I wrote it – It was the only word that sprang to mind… Mosquito ‘facsimilie’ didn’t really roll off the tongue…

It’s alright Nige, for some reason it seems some published authors are really letting themselves down on the forum at the moment, it does mean that you can tell what their writing is like and we can vote with our money by choosing what books to buy.
