That’s good for you, but even though there are Federal laws regarding travel with firearms that is supposed to make it possible to travel cross country without running afoul of the law, the reality is that what is legal where you live is not the same as where I live.

I’m in LA. Rifle racks in the rear window of a pick-up are actually legal here so long as the gun is locked in place….. :cool:Of course, the chance of driving around LA with my Mossberg 590 hanging in the rear window & NOT getting hassled by the cops are slim to none…

Depending on how serious the charge is, it is possible that you could lose the privilege to carry a handgun openly or concealed but it might still be legal for you to own, and even transport (unloaded & locked in trunk, separate from ammunition) your handgun.

Handgun don’t have to be locked in the trunk if they are in a locked container, they can be on your lap or on the seat next to you. There is also no requirement for the ammo to be kept separate, it just needs to be not loaded in the gun.
I can legally carry my M&P.40 in a locked container next to me, with 4 or 5 loaded mags in the same container.. so long as no mag is in the gun…

On a motorcycle you can lock them under the seat 🙂

& they can be used to illuminate your back yard at night…

Here’s a clip that your story about the 6ft. rifle made me think of. This dog reminds me of a new nugget owner.

Ah yes, a Golden Retarded 😀
