One of the photos of G-AZSC at Middle Wallop is mine but I don’t remember an e-mail. I’ll check though.
Sadly not. Cameras are forbidden on site.
I’ll keep the board posted if I see any developments though.
It may well be – I have no idea. All I know is that I drove past it, intact, on Friday. Destructive testing does sound fairly terminal though.
It was still there on Friday afternoon when I left work. I haven’t heard any more about when it is likely to be removed from the site.
I live in Handforth, near Wilmslow, Cheshire. I may be able to help.

Have there been any SERIOUS plans to get one of the two remaining TSR-2’s airborne again. There are two zero timed engines at gatwick and two airframes to pick, I think XR220 is the most intact. Would this require BAe’s permission as with the vulcan, I have herd that this is stopping XL231 from becoming airborne again. It would be amazing to see one flying again
Are YOU serious?
The project was cancelled at the beginning of what would have been a long and I dare say difficult test flying programme. I think XR219 only flew a handful of times so the flight envelope would not have been even close to being explored fully. Even the short test programme had already highlighted issues with the gear and the engine.
The Vulcan was restored to flight with a great deal of difficulty and that was an aircraft that had 40 years of experience behind it. Trying to restore an aircraft of that complexity which was never close to getting any sort of C of A. Not going to happen.
Oh it is still cliquey – more than ever in fact.
I used to visit the Flight Development archives in the late 1980s when I was at Hatfield working as a Flight Development Engineer. The archives were across in the old DH engine test building on the other side of the airfield. I thought the DH110 diaries, which remember looking at, were held elsewhere. I certainly remember reading WG236s as the Farnborough entry was very poignant.
I suspect some stuff may have been ‘liberated’ beforehand.
I cannot believe they would end up in a skip – absolutely scandalous – then again nothing about BAe (BAE) should surprise me. I thought all the archive stuff went to Farnborough. I was responsible for some stuff especially old 125 bits that Raytheon didn’t want.
Sorry, this probably doesn’t help at all

Did the Antonov fly into Woodford today does anyone know? And if so did it leave again or is it due out tomorrow?
It didn’t make it today. Due tomorrow (Weds 19th) mid morning I would guess.

XV208 was replaced in 2004 by BAe146-300 G-LUXE, the 146 prototype.

Veering off-topic and I can’t believe I’m answering someone about the ATP!
The original development work to upgrade the ATP by fitting the PW127(?) engine was carried out on G-MATP, long before the Jetstream 61 name was thought of.
ATP set 64 was the first “Jetstream 61” production or otherwise. I don’t think G-MATP had all the “Jetstream 61” mods whereas set 64 did (I can’t remember what the other mods were now).
A similar analogy would be 146-300 G-LUXE which flew in 1991 with the LF507engine subsequently fitted to the RJ but G-LUXE could never be considered the prototype RJ, as it didn’t have all the other mods fitted.
RJX-85 G-ORJX E2376 last flew in January 2002. It has been parked at Woodford since then with engines removed. The Customer training Centre uses it for parts of its training syllabus.
RJX-100 G-IRJX E3378 last flew a test flight in January 2002 then flew on 6/2/03 to Manchester airport for preservation. I have the dubious distinction of being on both the first and last flights of E3378.
RJX-100 E3391 flown as G-6-391 last flew in January 2002 as well after only 4 flights and was broken up.
The ATP prototype set 1 is in a sorry state at Woodford.
The Jetstream 61 prototype G-JLXI was set 64 and was broken up in 1997
Thanks for the info. I’ve been trying to find that out for years!

The flight was definitely on the 30th September and was, I believe, a special flight to tour around all places associated with the Victor. I have a recollection it was an ordinary K.2 but it was a while ago now.
