No, it wasn’t used on ops, it was just a test. Apparently had no benefits over existing colour schemes therefore not proceeded with.

Try a ‘red dot sight’ as used in air-rifle/pistol shooting – they are relatively cheap, from about £20 or so. You will need an adaptor to fit a RDS onto your hot-shoe, there’s a firm called Photosolve who make a gadget called Extend-a-Sight which is available off the i/net for about $30.
Another way to get round the problem may be to buy a loupe which fits round the rear screen, these are available from specialist photo retailers.

A friend witnessed the event- not looking good- possibility of people outside the field caught up in it- I hope that’s not the case.

Not totally sure, but I think that Sony cameras use an updated Minolta fitting, so may be compatible but lose some functionality. Brian – ‘Pen Pusher’ – is a Sony user and can probably give you the correct info.

did you by any chance get any shots of me in my 59 year-old Jodel, G-BDBV? She felt a bit left out parked right up at the far end with the moderns!!!!!

O.K. so the wing blanks out the reg but I’m fairly certain this is you. Taken from the punters enclosure so no flying shot. I have another pic but it needs a bit of work – and that one shows the reg !

What a job description to have in your passport- ‘ Test pilot, WW1 aircraft’.
Which U.K. pilots are checked out on these types?
