It reminds me of the time Treasure Hunt went to Old Warden and Anneka Rice, reading off the Spitfire information board called it a Spitfire Vee See
You’re complaining about Anneka Rice ??
This news already recorded on the forum under the revived Andover XS606 thread, although thanks for posting link to a source I wasn’t aware of before.
Thanks, SJ. Names like Regulus and Matador were running around in my brain, but IIRC they were a generation earlier and ground launched.
Don’t those people lining up to go inside the Atlas realise it’s a one-way trip ? And what’s that cruise missile/stand-off bomb thingy in the foreground called ? looks like it’s ramjet powered.
One wonders if she was intoxicated on Tiger beer…..

The gentleman who suggested a Sparrowhawk didn’t mention that you’d need a rather large dirigible to hang it from. Now that would be big, and a crowd-puller.
A note to myself to always check what’s waiting for take-off at the end of the strip – having left my camera with a friend I was walking to the nearest ‘thunderbox’ to shake hands with the Devil when the Christen Husky started it’s run. How many chances in life do you get to see a floatplane taking off from land in the middle of Bedfordshire?

O.K. so some of that is a porky…..
So what’s the gen on Peter H’s Storch? I’d love to see it in the air – I don’t think I’ve seen one fly since 1982. Is he selling it?
Adrian
According to an article in Aeroplane mag for August, yes- and some other types as well.

Personally, I think Shaun is unelectable – his policies are all woolly, and he comes over as sheepish.

Two Hurricanes & one Spitfire (or was one of the Hurris a clipped wing Spitfire?) made a couple of circuits over Panshanger abour 14.45hrs – presumably this was the section doing NW & Dux which were due to formate over Hertford Town.. Anyway, thanks for that, guys, I’m sure the spirits of all the guys who trained there during the war looked skyward.
