Actually guys, my comment was prompted by the fact that it hadn’t been remarked upon here – forumites are usually very hot on significant dates. Perhaps peoples attention was diverted by the social requirement to spend large quantities of money celebrating another (alleged) significant event. Nice to know the Springboks put up three, I not sure there’s that number flyable in the U.K. at the moment.
JB – nice spot, hadn’t realised that the B47 flew so early, was indeed a massive achievement.
Am I the only person never to have watched a complete stars wars film ?
I have never watched a complete Star Wars film – nor have I seen a single minute of ‘Game of Thrones’
Do I qualify as a sad loser ?

Popped over to a local station on the ECML last Saturday morning to take a short vid of 46233 Duchess of Sutherland fronting a charter to York. Being still half asleep I made the lazy man’s error of leaving my DSLR on autofocus. The result was a blurry mess of moving metal and streaming smoke but with some wonderful bokeh.
I decided against putting said vid on YouTube. So think before you press that shutter.

As Santa has let the franchise for toy construction out to the Chinese, I’ve just realised that what they are doing building islands in the South Chins Sea is constructing a new home for Santa, and those runways are provided for heavily loaded delivery drones. And you all thought they were up to no good !
Jim, did you ever get to arrest Santa for breaking and entering ?

Personally I always found that sprouts and Newcastle Brown was a winning combination, as well as being warming.

President Trump meets Prime Minister Corbyn ? it’ll never happen, but it gives you a frisson of excitement at the very thought- either that or loose bowels.
And don’t dis Jimmy Carter – anybody who invites Charlie Mingus to play at the White House is o.k.

From what I remember from perusing my copy of Wrecks & Relics a while ago, there doesn’t appear to be an intact Islander on display anywhere in the U.K. Is this still the case, or have I got it wrong?
“I had a suit like yours just after the war”
Are any of the surviving cockpits currently available ‘for inspection’ ? A purely selfish question, as I’ve ‘cabbed’ a Victor (Marham) a Vulcan (Coventry) and I’d like to complete the trio.
And has anybody got a Short Sperrin in their barn……
That picture is ripe for a caption competition – but be careful, you could end up in the Tower……
