…damn good show, won’t need to buy any Christmas pressies…..

It probably doesn’t move your search forward any, but construction number 27-134 was not among the 20 Aztecs purchased in the early 60’s, so at a guess it may well have remained a company demonstrator and was never painted in USN colours?

PeeDee, that’s an absolute classic, I almost fell off my chair laughing – did anybody else spot it ?

Here’s a vid of the Howard 500 that I shot at Coventry in 2003 ( apologies for the shaky transfer, used my old camcorder as a tape transport and it expired soon after ).

As a slight thread diversion, what are your numbers ? when I was born I was the 2,436,424,322nd person alive at that time, and the 75,320,567,896th. that had ever lived – all figures approximate, of course.

In reply to the first post, it may be unwise to comment on the social structures of other countries, the thought police may march you off to the gulags at some future date….

One was also entered in the first Kings Cup air race in 1922 – whether it actually did compete or not I don’t know, but what an impressive sight that would have made.

Sounds very interesting – is this a quota-restricted attendees event (as some night photoshoots tend to be) or is it ‘open’ i.e. just turn up and pay ?

Around 15.30-ish this afternoon – large low-wing single engined monoplane with fixed undercarriage over W.G.C. at about 2000 feet, not moving very fast; had me stumped for a while, reckon it may have been a Prentice. Can anybody else confirm, or suggest alternatives. A late spot, couldn’t get a good view thru’ my bins as it was flying away from me.

That really must have been an impressive sound with XH558 thundering and echoing around the valleys.
