And anyone who knows Panshanger will recognise the visitors parking area, where the Pup appears to have taxied into the rough grass. By the way, the hospital is two miles away (some swerve) the school is at the other end of the strip and off to the side, and there are no fluffy kittens on that estate (due to a plethora of Pit-Bulls in the locality).
Fleet, how about writing to the Russian Embassy in London, they may be able to point you in the right direction (….probably towards an oddly shaped rock underneath the third tree from the side-gate in Kensington Gardens…).
Joking apart, suspect the copyright rests with the Russian Government as the successors to the old Soviet Government, so it may be worth a try. You’ll only lose the price of a stamp if you don’t get a reply.
Another scan from the old pics box – unfortunately recorded no information about this, so don’t know identity/location/date

A couple of scans from my old pics box.
First one may be from either Cranfield or Fairford (but maybe somebody knows better ?)

Second on is from a BAE Hatfield open day, mid or late 80’s. Might this be the infamous tomato ‘bomber’ ?

A lot of you folks have been lucky this year – here in mid-Hertfordshire I’ve seen absolutely nothing (=nada=zilch=sweet fanny adams=s*d all) of interest so far this year, if you ignore Turbulent G-APIZ that puttered into Panshanger on Sunday.
The nearest I’ve got to anything historic was filming 34067 Tangmere (Battle of Britain class Light Pacific) as it came through town on the way to Lincoln earlier today.
@46 think not. 😀

For those people within easy reach of Duxford, they have an annual ‘Showbus’ event; this years is on 18th.September. I am told that it’s quite an interesting day out.

Seconded – well ranted, Sir.

it appears that you may have misunderstood my original post – I was just congratulating the fictional character on his birthday, it’s not my birthday until the end of June. I was referring to the common characteristic that he and I share, a steadfast refusal to grow up (at least mentally). Thanks for the lead on the striped jumper, but as it’s a skinny fit I shall be giving it a miss as my current sizing is at the ‘Tubby Old Git’ stage, somewhere between XL and XXL.
