Because he’s been making a living out of that load of old drivel for the past thirty years?

HO ! HO ! Must admit, the programmes long past its sell-by date, as is Last of The Summer Wine.
when the fab four began recording i bought their records obviously because i liked their music but also because their B sides were of an equally high standard unlike the then current recording stars both UK and US who tended to put out mediocre B sides (or fillups) their(the beatles) example started a trend as from that point B sides were better quality, good on em!
Have you ever listened to Charlie Parker? he never recorded a lousy B side.

For some reason the name Woodville or Woodvine springs to mind – it’s probably easier for me to pop downstairs and look in the Radio Times, but I can’t be bothered. Anyway, can anybody suggest why Charlie is incapable of looking people in the eye?

Damn! Was there alot of work needed on it then?
To my non-expert eye, yes. Not many restorations can be regarded as straightforward, but I understand the G-models were not particularly well built (by Curtiss, IIRC) so this could make things even trickier? Besides which I believe Mr. Gray has a few more toys to play with first…
Hi
Just wondered…
have corgi ( or anyone similar) ever made a diecast whirlwind ?
cheers
Jerry
I reckon a Corgi die-cast of a Beaufighter would outsell a Whirlwind by a very large ratio, can’t imagine why they haven’t already made one…….
judging by the condition it was in when viewed at the last Duxford show, no chance for a couple of years, I reckon.
A similiar crock of journalistic licence appeared in my local free rag a week or two ago. This report concerned an Indian pop star who modelled his wedding on his favourite Bollywood film. The journo reported that a fleet of stretched limousines took the guests and bridal couple from Potters Bar up to Cambridge Airport, where everybody boarded a luxury jet. When airborne the guests were apparently served a meal prepared by the best Indian restaurant in the area. The airliner was due to be accompanied on the trip by ‘a Second World War Russian fighter’.
The article was completed by a group photo posed in front of the luxury jet, which turned out to be an Air Atlantique DC3.
The thread was about Lewis moving to Switzerland – he says it’s the media attention he can’t stand, I say it’s the tax breaks he can take advantage of.
Good Luck to him.

theres no respect anymore, mind you i have heard that even in russia some memorials have been vandalised
Scumbags stole 80+ metal plaques from grave markers in Hatfield Cemetary recently, wonder if it’s the same people that ‘done’ the Museum (same locality) – they deserve a good kicking up the rear end, wearing Rosa Klebb shoes whilst administering (that’s a James Bond reference for the uninitiated)
I actualy realy enjoyed some of the more unusual acts last year. The Helicopter picking up the roadwork cone was very imprssive as well as the Hang Glider display.
Just as long as the geezer with the helio runs his engine up on the far side of the field this time, and not directly in front of me – it’s the only time I’ve watched a Spitfire display to the sound of rotor blades instead of a Merlin or Griffon.
Super pics there, Gary, thanks for posting. A friend of mine was at the show and was surprised at the sheer bulk of the F22 (not having seen one before) and if you look at the relative sizes in the ‘Heritage’ flypast I think you can understand why.
DC6 (..or was it a 4..) heading SSE over Welwyn G.C. at 10.30hrs this morning, at height of around 2500′
