Here, Hampden98, you’re a Rank 5 user (I still don’t know what one is and don’t really care to be honest) but you talk about old Rank 5 users fading away.

No I didn’t, was someone else, but thanks anyway.

    Its discussion time.

I personally am becoming extremely tired (and annoyed) of responses that puts the most innocent request into the “idiot that cannot search for a reply” category.

I have over 20 years of experience of computers, but I still consider myself as a rank amateur.

Should there be more tolerance and guidance on these forum’s.

    Discuss.

    It’s one of the reasons I rarely reply or post threads on this forum. I normally get a;
    `try google`
Several smart alec responses pointing out spelling mistakes.
A reply telling me this was discussed 6 months ago so sod off.
A reply letting me know I’m not in the know but `they` are so sod off again.
    etc, etc
I find a more adult response on the Airfix or Games forums.

I sort of understand the logic of where you are coming from, except that most main legs etc are actually held in with locking mechanisms that have to be released before the hydraulics then lower the undercarriage.

    However

The B-17 does not have hydraulically operated landing gear, or very much else for that matter, as they are all exclusively operated by electrically driven screw jacks.
The only hrdraulics on a Fort are the brakes and the engine cooling cowl flaps/gills.
Even the turrets are electrically operated with an electric motor driving 2 little self contained hydraulic (hydrostatic strictly speaking) power cubes.

Hope this helps answer any curiosity.

    Bomberboy

Perhaps the Pilot was hit and fell onto the gear down control?

I have eight very large conifers in my garden. I have now also aquired all of Bradley Stokes and surrounding areas Starling population who roost in my trees. This has been going on for three weeks now. There are many hundreds if not into the thousand+ of these birds and the numbers seem to be increasing.
It starts at dusk and they wheel about in circles collecting more and more as they do so. They get lower and lower and finally settle in my trees and churp away until 6-30 or 7-00pm. Now I am an animal and bird lover and the last thing I want to do is deny them safety and shelter over the winter.
But I wish they would empty their bowels somewhere else and not when they come into land!

4-45pm sees me out there with Triplewax Liquid Gold Self Drying Shampoo and a hose. I wash 2 cars and hose them off in ten minutes flat now!
Apparantly the Starlings will start to drift of somewhere else by the end of February so 51 more days of this then!(hopefully)

People come and watch this specticle now. I stand in my porch and watch them getting bombed as well as my cars!

It’s when nature sends it’s Naval Assets in to do some `gardening` on my pond I object to! Must be using upkeeps as the net doesn’t keep them at bay?
