    More Bull****.

Our Air Force rejected the AMX-T because it was considered ****. It was intended to buy by Chavez as a political gesture to Brazil. Air Force never supported the idea.

We would not buy that thing never in the future…althorugh the Super Tucano is badly needed and missed.

    So,
may be Venezuela will buy AMX from Brasil as a trainer fighter. Sure not from Italy.
The italian AMX are good as bombardier. The AMI was satisfied by AMX during Kosovo war. Amx is good in CAS role too.
Of course is not a fighter for air superiority.

    Again.
No italian AMX has been sold to Venezuela.
Venezuela Air Force has not AMX in service.
    😡
Of course Italy is a free and sovereign country.

    It sounds strange to me.
For that I know, no AMX are in service in Venezuela Air Force. At least not italians. There was a deal that is finished in 2005, but no Amx has been sold to Venezuela.

You are of course correct concerning the G.222. I am really impressed by Finmeccanica, they seem to have their hands in so many programmes: Eurofighter, Sky-X, Neuron, MB339, Boeing 787, EH101, AW149, NH90, etc…

Today in Europe, Finmeccanica represent the little alternative at EADS/Airbus.
Finmeccanica goes very well and is giving many satisfactions to italian and european industry.

“(Source: US Government Accountability Office (GAO) via Rotorhub; issued Feb. 26, 2007)

GAO decision may give the AgustaWestland EH101, seen here in Portuguese service, and the Sikorsky HH-92 a second crack at the US Air Force’s CSAR-X contract. (Team US101 photo)
By decision of today, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) sustained the bid protests of Sikorsky Aircraft Company and Lockheed Martin Systems Integration-Oswego (LMSI) against the Department of the Air Force’s award of a contract to The Boeing Company, under request for proposals (N° FA8629-06-R-2350), for the Combat Search and Rescue Replacement Vehicle (CSAR-X).

The solicitation provided that for purposes of the source selection, cost/price would be calculated on the basis of the Most Probable Life Cycle Cost (MPLCC), including both contract and operations and support costs. GAO sustained the protest on the basis that the Air Force’s actual evaluation of MPLCC was inconsistent with the required approach as set forth in the solicitation.

GAO recommended that the Air Force amend the solicitation to reflect its intent with respect to the evaluation of MPLCC, reopen discussions with offerors, and then request revised proposals.

GAO further recommended that if the evaluation of revised proposals results in a determination that Boeing’s proposal no longer represents the best value to the government, the agency should terminate its contract.

GAO also recommended that Sikorsky and LMSI be reimbursed the costs of filing and pursuing their protests, including reasonable attorneys’ fees.”

How could this be funded? Indeed, how could it be run? Would there be a “rotating command” of the thing, like musical chairs? Or would all 25 EU states have to agree to its deployment? 😀

    France: “Set course, SSW.”
    Italy: “No, NWW!”
    Germany: “No, SSE!”
    Spain: “No, NNE!”
France: “Shut up – this is my carrier, after all!”
Other countries: “What? You said it would be European.”
France: “Of course it’s European. And by rights we should control Europe, so we should control the carrier.”

*Royal Navy sails by happily in HMS Queen Elizabeth, while the Europeans start a punch-up.*

    A perfect forecast.
But never will be cause CVF/PA2 it’s only Uk and France matter. No others EU country want to be involved, nor french or others EU countries has the right to claim that the
own military equipment is a EU matter.
A true EU carrier will be possible only when there will be a common parliamnet in Bruxelles that is over the nationals parliaments. The course will be give by a parliament representing all the 27 EU countries and not from Paris.

Thanks to the high consideration to the italian technology 🙁

Elettronica provides Empar radar for the modern first class italian french frigates, avionics to the Agusta-Westland EH101 Merlin and more.

Russia has a great tradition and modern aerodynamic engineers, but they lack modern electronic has the western countries due to the budget defense cut of the last 15 years.
