This plane is only meant to take off (and land) on water

Destination is now reportedly narrowed down to France

There are several photos of P3351 on this WONZ thread, from wrecked components in 1994, flying 2001 – 2006, to static display 2012.

That would be a week after Temora then. Hmm I was thinking of spending the week before Temora doing aviation stuff in NSW, and flying back to NZ on the 3rd. Hmm.
Those aren’t ‘survivors’.
Kermit Week’s 1 1/2 Strutter is now with The Vintage Aviator Ltd, NZ (swapped for a repro Albatros + refurbing Kermit’s engine for it).
The ‘Peter Jackson’ entries above should be TVAL. I think the Omaka AHC one is TVAL owned as well (and lent to Omaka AHC, like many of their exhibits).
Here’s a loooonnnggg nose

Was there that weekend Errol. Was that when he had to lift the undercart to clear the fence? 🙂
While I have not-dissimilar photos* taken from the same place (in 2010), that’s Glenn’s photo, posted here by Peter.
*Cockpit below runway height, but wings level, so not as dramatic.
Also have a Herc doing a near-wheelbarrow, and saw Caribous doing wheelbarrows in my youth.
Errors on in-service aircraft are of course on-going, but most manage to keep the display team to spec!

Here’s a video (taken by Warren Denholm of AvSpecs) from the right-hand seat during the Anson display at Warbirds Over Wairarapa last weekend. Ten minutes of twin Cheetahs!
Bill Reid (owner) talks about the Anson in RAF service as part of Dave H’s podcast.

WONZ thread for the airshow, there might be some other aircraft of interest…

You might try the ‘Flying Navy’ board of Wings Over NZ.

Have you seen his entry in ‘For Your Tomorrow (I assume there is one there) by Errol Martyn?
Search on ‘Mosquito Powell’ on this forum and look at the thread about flying with a Mosquito.
Photos of the (presumed) last landing of KA114 at Ardmore, Auckland – I was trying my luck out there too, but missed it as I had to leave at 1715.

Depends on your definition of ‘on its way’, but removing the the wing etc is a moderate amount of work, followed by putting in ‘special box’ for a ‘special ship’.
Fantastic line-up and photos.
…
How come it will be the Mosquitos’ final show in NZ?
When it returns to Ardmore (Monday? Tuesday? I might be able to make it out to see it arrive) AvSpecs will start dis-assembly and packing for shipping to the USA.
There are now photos from the show at Wings Over NZ. Looks a cracker – hopefully I will see nearly all of it at Omaka at Easter. Note that Les Munro (Dam Buster) and Peter Jackson scored rides in the Mossie. Also, I don’t think it’s been mentioned here that the Mossie will be returning to Ardmore (Auckland) after the show for immediate dis-assembly and shipping to the USA.

This film star still regularly puts on shows!

Looks like the turret is faired to the nose so can’t turn. Probably explains why it looks wrong. I guess it won’t matter as these will be used for distant shots. What will they use for close ups. Are they planning on using a real lancaster?
There is/will be one for close-ups – not sure if it will be one of the Chinese-made fibreglass ones that they’ve done more work on, or a different partial rig, or some other arrangement. They borrowed Kermit Weeks’ turret to assist in designing it. They of course have had several long looks at MOTAT’s example.
