I notice someone on their Facebook opage mentioned the B place…

I shall have a look at the pics if I can find them (I’m not going to post here as they’re not my copyright to do so), but I’m sure the engine came out in shards – you can’t see in the image I posted, but there’s a ridge of greensand rock and it hit right at the top (I went to school at the bottom of the hill – they dug it in the school holidays, or we’d have been all over it!).
Having said that, I now need to dig the pics out to ensure that I am not making fake news!
Still looks and sounds good, and probably has as many original parts as any Hurricane that has been working for the last 78 years.

Ah, right – sorry! Lt Joseph Kennedy II, JFK’s brother. I’ll see if I can do something about the thumbnail… How’s that? To me, if I put one picture in it displays full size – does that work for you?
Adrian
(unnecessarily sarcastic post removed as it seems not everyone can see the thumbnail)
So – which Spitfire? Should be easy, given the mark…

Just to add to the impossibility, there are also museums at Wethersfield and Ridgwell in Essex, bothe former Stirling (amongst other types) bases.

Obviously spread about a bit – I have a piece about as big as my thumb of the Form 700! And some scanned prints of pics of the size of the lumps that came out of the hole in the rock. Quite how a data plate survived to be rebuilt is beyone me 😛
Crashed near the top of this big field… https://www.google.com/maps/place/East+Sutton/@51.2183124,0.6239627,499m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x47df2ee0ffc23df1:0xf5996be39a03bc8b!8m2!3d51.2040066!4d0.6129265

Matches the grass!

Storchs don’t fly in the conventional sense. They are so butt-ugly that the earth repels them! Actually, I do have a soft spot for the Storch, but pretty it is not.

A gender neutral aircraft I think is the correct term here!……
I have not the foggiest what you are on about.

Holey moley! The Skyvan, much as I am fond of it, is far from beautiful, but that paint scheme is magnificently fugly!
Adrian
…which probably renders flying challenging!
Sadly anything requiring that is probably major. Hope it’s soon sorted.

I’m just impressed that Belslow bits can turn up at car boots, given that there was never a surplus of the things! I would have bought it too – I grew up under the Stansted flightpath so I have a big soft spot for them.
Adrian
I’m glad you think so – 319 views and no other comments suggests you and I are in the minority on this one

Good to see him – he’s a great chap, isn’t he?

On pprune with a very poor photo (why a post from yesterday is archived I don’t know) – I assume the pilot is only going to be sore in the wallet.
