Yes Stirlings got scrapped at Woburn. You can still find small bits if you know where to look.

We had a load of Grunau Baby bits lodging with is untill saturday. There was a set of wings, tailplane and fuselage frames. They went to Lasham to help with another Grunau that is being restored. Think the Lasham crew where after some of the metal fittings.
Dave
The fuselage is in the jig. But its getting a bit cold for glue at the moment.

I have a copy of the record from when it came out. When it was on tv ‘Top of the pops’ they used clips from the film Blue Max. I use to have the song as my ring tone on mobile phone.
Dave
Its looking good. Nice to help out.

I first saw the film in 1969 with my ATC sdn (460) at the Dominion in London. We had a trip from Dunstable to see it. I had been to Duxford and saw the Hurricanes and chateau, during the filming at a week end. Climbing thought the fence and having a good look around, other people where doing the same. At a Henlow airdisplay had the chance to see some more of the aircraft used in the film. Later working for one of the photographer’s on his thatched roof. I managed to get some photos he took at the time. This I let MK12 see the photos, He was lucky enough to make contact with the photographer and get copies of his photo’s, Then wrote an article in the Aeroplane magazine a few years back. i still enjoy the film. It has its mistakes but not a bad filmover all. Got it on in the back ground.
