All Mike Russell’s drawings are now in the Vintage Glider Club archive at Bicester. I dont recall seeing them. But I have never looked for them. How ever Mike sold the Drone to Peter Kirk so the drawings my be with him.

I know it shouldn’t be, but to me looks a bit like a Short Sturgeon.

I always remeber G-AEDB being noisy. Its also very heavy if you pick its tail up of the ground. Once Mike Russell landed at Duxford, their was a smell of burning. One of the bolts holding the prop on had fallen of and the prop had moved causing the prop boss to get quite warm. Mike flew the Drone from Duxford to Dunstable gliding club. Last thing I had to do with was take the wings back on a trailer after my father recovered them.

Jack was a great character. I sent many hours with Jack at Blechley Park and other places. Sorry I couldnt get to his funeral today. I had the pleasure of taking him to Elvington some years back. We went in the Halifax. He show me his Wop position and the escape hatch where he was helped out with a kick up the back side from Jock Laurie his crew member. It was a great pleasure to have known Jack Bromfield.
