I to was at the unvailing of the memorial . Thanks to Chas Jellis the memorial has been made to the two crew members who lost there lives in the B24 crash. It was nice to meet Norman and Geroge, pilot and tail gunner.
The memorial is at Ford End Farm, Ivinghoe. There is another memorial at Cheddington Airfield just out side the gates which was unvailed in the 1980’s.

I cant remember, but a photo of it is on page 106 of Martin Simons book ‘The Worlds Vintage Sailplanes 1908-45. It may have started out as a Cadet.

It privately owned and rent paid to the gliding club for its parking slot. The owner in the past has never wished to part with it. He didnt know of its history, other than it was a Lincoln until i told him.

In the Air Britain Battle file there is no mention of Battles used for testing the Peregrine engine. RR Merlins, Exe, Napier Dagger, Sabre, Bristol Hercules, Taurus and Fairey 24 Prince engines where tested in Battles.
