Assuming that you won’t go far with a bungee launch from Old Warden (!), from where was it launched?

It was launched at Old Warden, But they need a lighter bungee rope. They are also hoping to aerotow it.

TT what you want now is a Anti Zeppelin flechette. That will stop the Zepps dropping more bombs. There is one on ebay at the moment.

The plans in the Airfix magazine (january 70) of the Hamilcar are not to good. The undercarrage is that of the prototype. There where plans in Aircraft of the fighting powers vol V. Which are mentioned in the Airfix mag. If you see the film ‘ All the Kings Horsa’s’ There are good shots of Hali’s, Albermarles and Stirlings. There are some photos of Horsa and Hamilcars which you can see the undercarrage in The history of the Glider Piolt Regiment. The Airfix mag is for sale on ebay, Type in Fairey Battle look down on the list and its the one with the Bren gun carrier on the front.

    Best wishes

My father changed the tail wheel on his Proctor at Luton airport in the late
40’s early 50’s. Bader was shouting at my father all the time. So he didnt get the best wheel change. Bader is not very well thought of by my father!

I think its for generating smoke, as it always gets shot down.

BAC Drone G-AEDB has a Cherub engine although it hasn’t flown for some years. The late Mike Russell spent a long time looking for a Cherub for his DH 53 Humingbird G-EBQP, Which was gong to be made airworthy. But is now the De Havilland Aircraft heritage centre.

Sir Alasdair Workman MacRobert was killed on June 1st 1938 at Luton airport
he was one of 3 killed (all members of Redhill Flying Club) on there way from Redhill Aerodrome to Luton Aerodrome the others being

    the other two killed were:

    Ronald E.L. Beere
    E.S. Baker

MacRobert was believed to be the pilot and the plane came down in a wheat field

The aeroplane was Percival Vega Gull G-AFBR, crashed 1/6/1938. There are Photos of this crash in Luton museum negative collection. I had to identify them and some other picture’s as they had lost the information on them. They also had photo’s of DH Tiger Moth G-ADGO crashed at Dunstable gliding club 24/5/1936 ( my father saw this crash). DH34 G-EBBS crashed at Ivinghoe/ Pitstone 14/9/1923.

I remember Colin Rogers flying G-APWP with a bubble canopy at the air displys at Dunstable Downs in the 1960s. I heard a few years ago that it was stored some where, Is it still?
