The Hampden was down the road at Husborne Crawley. This was AD854 which crashed 9/9/41.Ther is a memoral of this aircraft in the vilage hall oppsite the white horse pub. There is a piece of the hampden on the board.

From my Bletchley Park days i think it was a Lancaster, I believe the pilot was an American. I think it may have been dug, from what i was told. I cant remeber when it crashed, but should have it some where.
Dave
There where two on the mountain side on mt Brandon, Ireland. From the crash site of Short Sunderland 111 G-AGES a few years ago!
Dave
It looks a bit like one i use to have of a Hampden
We need to know what is stamped on the side of the hub. There should be some writing and numbers. Then should then be able to identify what it is from.
Is the Wellington the same aeroplane as the photo that is on ebay item 350039583096 !

I never have seen the film only clips of it. I do remeber Russavia’s DH 2 going to EMK’s for modification to a Gunbus. When we got it back in Gunbus form a few of us crew members had a ride in it. Unfortunately i only got a taxi ride in it as it had a oil pressure drop, on the to the runway. The Kinner engine it came back with was better than the Pobjoy it was built with. After a while as a Gunbus it was converted back to the DH2. Mike Russell did fly it a few times. I cant rember how long we had it, as the Dragon project took over. I think the DH 2 is now up for sale. Was the Sywell Gunbus a static film prop.

You need the book “High Ground Wrecks and Relics” by David J Smith its a bit old now. The only sites i have been to in Yorkshire When gliding at Sutton Bank, are the F86 Sabre on Hood Hill just below Sutton Bank. The crater is on the spine on the way to the top. I have looked for the Halifax that crashed just below Sutton Bank (Hood Grange) but never found it. The site is marked with a cross on the rock face so i am told. I have also been to the Whitley site at Arden great moor, but not much there.

I have a few bits,Avro 504K rudder fabric, DH 10 wing rib. Avro 504N prop boss, Gloster Grebe prop boss, Hawker Hart prop boss. A mid upper gunners ladder from a Stirling. Piece of Victor that cashed on Wyton cross roads. Plus a few other things i have collected over the last 45 years!

The Focke Wulf Condor was hit by AA fire over the Irish sea. The crew where all interned. There are a few WW2 crash sites in Ireland.
Dave
I have a piece Focke Wulf Condor spar which i got from the museum at Bletchley Park when the aircraft section closed down. This came from a crash site on Mount Brandon 1940. Also have a Pre Luftwaffe instrument fuel rate dial from a world war 1 Fokker D VII. Plus luftwaffe steel helmet.
