Regarding photos at the science museum, does anyone know why the McLaren F1 car has “no photography” signs around it??? Didn’t see any such signs elsewhere in the museum.
The first set are among your best work so far Steve. But you don’t have to thank EVERYONE who replies mate!!! 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
Ah – that’ll be my eyesight then…
Can anyone confirm that it was the Dak? I saw “it” from a distance of about 15 miles while on a train, and it looked Lanc-shaped to me!
The aviation gallery at the Science Museum is well worth a visit at any time.
Spent a very enjoyable couple of hours in the gallery yesterday. My second visit in as many months. Agree totally about the lighting. It makes Hendon look well lit. I wish more of the aircraft were at floor level. The E28/39 and Me-163 are particularly difficult to get a decent view of. Well worth a visit though.
Just joined on line. Hope my £20’s one of many.
Certainly forums such as this and others have turned what was once a solo hobby into a much more social one. Information spreads like wildfire. On the minus side, there’s less of the “what might turn up” element when we go to airshows, as display lineups are posted weeks and months in advance!
Funnily enough I was playing BoB for the first time in ages yesterday. Certainly still highly playable – the dogfighting action is still among the best. Looking forward to this new title – the graphics look better even than the Il-2 series!
Top stuff! 🙂
“Special subject, the bleedin’ obvious” to quote B.Fawlty.
Now I really have heard it all…
Great day – traffic out was suprisingly swift considering the double-whammy of events this weekend.
99% sure it’ll be Old Warden for me.
1, Built for Lord Rothermere and called “Britains first” and presented to the nation. Why? Not a clue.
Been a while since I read “Spirit of Britain First”, but I believe the name was partly patriotic and partly because it was the world’s first all-metal, stressed skin monoplane of that type.
The Blenheim was built for Lord Rothermere, proprietor of the Daily Mail as far as I can remember. Wasn’t the prototype named “Britain First”?
